I got to ask, since I'm seeing Lots of hands to the face and holding from the pics and vids of practice, does the refs call these during practice? This is not good as penalties will kill drives or on D allow extended drives by the opponent. Seems to be an area that needs to be addressed soon imho. I saw the refs throw 2 pass interference flags during the O v D scrimmage, but I never saw them throw a flag during OL vs DL drills. I guess we will find out. I do genuinely believe our OL is much improved from last year.

Iupati is the only O-lineman left from the NFCC team of 2015. 3/5's of the line are newcomers to AZ. 1 drafted rookie and 2 UFAs.
Humphries our drafted #1 LT needs to stay healthy this year to anchor that left side. I expect Wetzel to push Smith at RT. And Will Holden a solid backup to Hump at LT.
Will the team carry 8 or 9 O-line this year? I can see 9. As only carrying 8 leaves the backups too thin impo.

98.7 just stated that yesterday at practice the offense ran a screen play to DJ which had Iupati and Mason Cole perfectly out in front of him that was the best designed/executed RB screen pass they've seen at any practice in last decade. Maybe ... Mason Cole being more athletic than A.Q. will be a positive when implementing the McCoy screen game.
Jurecki tweeted out yesterday that DJ looks fantastic and motivated. McCoy called DJ a "special player" and looks like the offense is going to get him a couple screen passes per game. IMO DJ (just like how McVay utilized the screen for Gurley in 2017) will have almost 300-400 yds of offense this year just on screens.

Honestly I would make it mandatory for all OL to wear knee braces on both legs. I know alot of guys dont like them. They are restrictive. Not flexible. But darnit we cannot afford to have any starter get rolled up. Thats 90% of OL injuries. Your OG falling and bending your LTS knee sideways.

the cards can afford good custom made braces, they have plenty of money. its not like they gotta grab something off the shelf at walgreens. they can get something highly functional and comfortable. sure its gonna be in the thousands of dollars but when its saving you a player that costs millions its well worth it. heck who ever the medical insurance company is would probably pay the costs because it has to be cheaper than surgeries and rehab for a year. the nfl requires pads and helmets, they should require braces too. even if it only saves each team 1 10 million dollar player a year that's going to be saving a ton of money and increasing the over all quality on the field making for a more attractive product. and I would go farther than just linemen. how many times did we lose carson and honeybadger? requiring every player to wear braces would be like getting 2 free starters every year probably.
