Thanks ZAZ. I wouldn’t be surprised if the running game consists of a 2 headed monster..

No and thats concerning. They are letting him do it. Hes done it far too many times at this point for it not to be a normal part of the offense. I cant wrap my head around it. If theres 1 player in the NFL who doesnt need to run the ball, its Bradford. He will be just fine, as the new NFL rules don’t allow anything but two hand touch if a QB is over 28 I have no concern about him getting tackled. Its the slide. Its funny, in practice when he runs...he never slides. It just adds to my amazement. Not only is our crippled QB running....but hes not practicing sliding. Which means both femurs will be sticking through his knee pads like punji stakes the 1st time he slides week 1.

If theres 1 player in the NFL who doesnt need to run the ball, its Bradford. Maybe the "drop in the bucket" competitions have gone away with new coaching staff. Going back to Kurt Warner vs. Matt Leinart, the Cards at end of practice setting up trash cans in the corner of end zone for the QB's to have a competition on throwing the football inside the garbage can. Sounds like they may want to bring this back for additional Rosen practice. Media members who have stayed to watch said Kurt Warner was undefeated vs. Matt Leinart and Carson Palmer in the 2015 season won EVERY week UNTIL the week following the infamous Eagle game where he injured the index finger on his throwing hand.
FWIW - it seems like that drill/competition does show whom is the most accurate QB on the roster.
And also to add to my previous post, I like the new regime. Its more serious. Definitely a close knit group. Wilks is respected. But hes not a friend. No more dress up in costumes on the plane, etc. Look at the Patriots. That organization is void of fun. Its dead serious. Its a job. And they win rings. I dont think thats a coincidence. And watching Cards practice, it has a military feel to it. Team stretching. Running from drill to drill. Yes they play music, but everyone has a pep in their step. We dont have a cool uncle anymore. We have a head coach. He teaches and he directs. Thats awesome IMO. I like that trashball and all the silly time is gone

And also to add to my previous post, I like the new regime. Its more serious. Definitely a close knit group. Wilks is respected. But hes not a friend. No more dress up in costumes on the plane, etc
The atmosphere and focus is more business like which is what it should be with Steve Wilks calling the shots. We dont have a cool uncle anymore. We have a head coach. He teaches and he directs. Thats awesome IMO. I like that trashball and all the silly time is goneThat is what has been missing the last two seasons. We now have a real head coach who teaches and directs and not a blow hard whose coaching philosophy was based on "No Risk It, No Biscuit" which failed miserably !

Thanks for your report ZAZ.
The most alarming thing to me was....
- Kirk is consistently invisible. If he werent a 2nd round pick, Id think hes some try out guy. Over 3 practices he hasnt WOW'd once.
Sure its early, but as a second rounder I was hoping for more than this.

Hopefully Kirk can contribute as a punt returner if he isn't ready for offensive work.

Sure its early, but as a second rounder I was hoping for more than this. I think its important to say he hasnt done anything wrong. He catches his passes. Catches his punts. Theres just nothing interesting to say. Theres guys who stand out. Guys who makes plays in practice that makes the crowd go "oooh" and clap. Its just kirk isnt one of them.

Hey...good stuff Zaz...Keep it coming.. all we get is reports from reporters living on the cards dime
I'll second that. Zaz has an ability he should cultivate, IMO. Maybe write a "column" now and then as the mood strikes him that could be included on this site, sorta like the stuff Urban and Odegard do except based on all the facts and no hiding of obvious warts.

Consistent trends over 3 practices:
- high energy, high tempo. Everything is done with urgency. Units run from drill to drill. Look like they are having fun. - Regimented. Very well organized. I love the team stretching. It just makes them look like a TEAM. Players dont seem to mind at all. - Bradford is by far the best QB. 0% chance hes beaten out. -1,000% Bradford gets hurt. Why?.....he runs for 1st downs. Often. No joking. Captain No Cartilage quite often runs for 1st downs when he cant find a receiver. Oh boy. Get the cart ready. - OL looks good. OR the DL looks bad. Im not sure which. But the OL dominates the DL consistently. - Mason Cole might secretly be our best rookie. He just never gets beat. Very impressive. - Shipley hurt his leg today, so Mason might be Center of the future immediately. Not a bad thing. - Rosen struggles with endzone corner fades. Coincidentally Carsons favorite throw. He consistently over throws it. May need to try something else. - Kirk is consistently invisible. If he werent a 2nd round pick, Id think hes some try out guy. Over 3 practices he hasnt WOW'd once. - Good CB unit. No superstars, but I havent seen any weak points. No Bethels getting beat up on. Boston, Budda, Taylor, Bene, PP. All work well together. - Josh Bynes will do a stellar job as starter. Not allowed to tackle, but hes always stuffing the run. - Also Reddick looks much improved. Hes very fast for a LB. Never gets beaten around the edge in a footrace. - BA ball is dead. Maybe 1-2 deep throws over the course of practice. Get ready for lots of 5 yard dumps. Not a bad thing. Just boring in comparison. - So few players sign autographs. Ill never understand. They act as if its a burden. The exception: Chandler Jones. By far more interactive player with fans.
The only way to judge is the when the bullets start flying. Practice is just not the same. Bradford could play in a real game, get hurt and be out for the year. Rosen could play better in a real game when it counts as could Kirk. Part of ability is availability. That's why you will see a lot of rookies play on this team like Cole, Rosen, Kirk, probably a couple spots on defense and special teams will have rookie action too. This team is much more physical in practice than the previous regime. Much more running, get the ball out quick, fewer deep throws. I like the two back sets with Edmunds and Johnson on the field at the same time and the fullback sets. The running backs look like the strength in this offense even though our receivers are very underrated.

Thanks ZAZ, any observations on the rb’s? Chase Edmonds runs with authority. He absolutely trucked a DB on one play. I missed the DB's number, but most of the 1s were on the field. Kid looks great.

Completely off topic, but theres not really anywhere else to post this:
The Giants just released Teddy Williams.
Yeah, that Teddy Williams. That name you vaguely remember from 6 years ago? Yes, somehow that guy has still been in the NFL all this time. All I can say is WOW. He made millions of dollars and had a long NFL career because he can run really fast, and multiple teams thought they were the ones who could "fix him".
Hey man, kudos to you.

I dont put any stock into Bradford running in practice. He knows he wont get hit here and why slide when you're not getting hit. You think this veteran doesnt know how to slide? That being said Mr. no Knees will not last long.
Kirk not standing out seems about right to me. He's going to be a non flashy type possession receiver. No frills just solid if he is who I think he is.
It's easy to shat on Arians now that he's gone. He was the most successful coach here. That being said he had no chance of winning it all. He would rather keep his buddy as a ST's coach then win. He was loyal to a fault and you cant do that if you want to win it all. Just look at BB with NE.

I got to ask, since I'm seeing Lots of hands to the face and holding from the pics and vids of practice, does the refs call these during practice? This is not good as penalties will kill drives or on D allow extended drives by the opponent. Seems to be an area that needs to be addressed soon imho.

Thanxs for posting that nice articulated piece zaz. My big takeaway is Bradford isn’t sliding in practice I find that disconcerting.
