Its been a long time since we have had a decent offensive line. I will say when we had a better line it was because there was consistency and the same guys played their respective positions for several games together. Justin Murray gets the start this week vs The Baltimore Ravens. He earned his assignment this week and Coach Kingsbury like his performance by saying so in his presser. No more injuries is what I am hoping for. Sean Kugler should bring his group of linemen together. cardswire.usatoday.com/2019/09/12/justin-murray-starting-rt-arizona-cardinals/

Baltimore had 3 sacks and 3 turnovers and only allowed 12 first downs in week one.
Kyler was sacked 5 times last week and we said the Oline played well. We have low expectations around here.

Aris Honest fact. I was going to say opinion but the truth hurts sometimes. Kyler Murray is suppose to be able to elude the rush. 5 sacks is scary as Detroit is not known for it pass rush. In the video below Patrick Onwausor ILB for the RAVENS speaks to the media plus he talks about Terrell Suggs and what he learned from him. Baltimore has a tough defense as long as I can remember. I know their starting corners are hurting and that is about it. 1. Away game 2. Home opener for the Ravens 3. Great Defense 4. Lamar Jackson is playing a hot hand 5. Lot of Trouble for Our Cardinals www.baltimoreravens.com/video/patrick-onwausor-home-opener-will-be-huge-for-defense

9 for 26 for 70 yards, no touchdowns and one interception Four sacks for 30 yards One rush for six yards 27.4 quarterback rating
During those 3 quarters, I think everyone had "low expectations". Were 4 of the 5 sacks coverage sacks? I can see that when our QB had a 27.4 rating for three quarters.
Baltimore had 3 sacks against a Miami team! Nuff said. If our team starts off the game against the Ravens like we played the 4th quarter against the Lions, those 3 sacks, 3 turnovers and only 12 first downs allowed will not happen again.
EDIT: Baker Mayfield had 3 interceptions and was sacked 5 times against the Titans. That is worse than Murray. Oh yeah, and they lost!

5 sacks is a lot for a QB who is very mobile. But overall the line held up pretty good. Some holes were opened up (more scheme?) . Of course baby arms had the worst PFF rating. He's just real bad (but a nice guy and usually reliable in terms of availability). The surprise was Sweezy who had a PFF around 75. He was low 50's all year with Seattle last year. I do think Kluger will make a difference coaching. And having a line that stays together most of the year seems very important. I hope that's the case for a change. This week will be a big test. East coast game. Loud crowd noise. It could be very ugly.

Honestly Murray himself was at fault for half of those sacks. Yes he is mobile but there were opportunities he should have thrown the ball away and didn’t. Can’t blame the OL for all of them.

I do agree with that assessment for sunday. but I remember Kevin Kolb. He would have 0.7 seconds before two guys were on him and the fans would say "it's Kolbs fault".

The oline was good when Warner was under center and when Palmer was under center. Between those years, horrible.

In no way am I concerned about it. Kyler just made some rookie mistakes, which is obviously expected in your first NFL game. He’ll get better.

I think that if he had better protection he would have been decent for the Cards**, and wish him well. ** which statement applies to other prior QBs...

From what I remember (which isn't much), Kolb usually ran the wrong way...right into sacks instead of stepping up in the pocket. A lot of times it WAS Kolb's fault, imo.

He had awful protection yet put up decent numbers. He was actually a pretty good QB. But we'll never know because he was practically taken out of the league in a body bag.

If you were at the stadium up close like I was it was ridiculous how little time the guy had. He had no time to "run the wrong way".

Some guys never grow. (we've had plenty of Brandon Williams types where the fans are saying "give him time") But KM will grow. He's going to be a superstar in this league.
