Round 2 took forum members by surprise; not that the game was won, but the margin of victory. Folks have since been observed walking with a spring in their step and many (should the intelligence received be accurate) have taken to idle whistling whilst strolling along, taking in deep breaths of air and simultaneously declaring out loud to any passing stranger "life is good".
Anyway the past has gone and anticipation now builds for the future. - The next Home fixture is against the much fancied Detroit Lions and long gone is the time our coming opponent was considered to be 'second rate' and, to the unkindly out there, a 'bit of a laughing stock'. - No Sir!.. not now, the Lions are serious foe and play with a hard edge with cutlass claws, a vice like jaw and dagger teeth. In short, if don't respect this Detroit animal then prepare for a sharp nip on the rear.
Evaluation format is as per Round 2. - The red-colored phone beside my workstation was ringing non-stop after Round 1, when plenty 'advice' was received on how better to conduct affairs. The author is not often taking to caving easily, but the message was taken on board all right; I'd better rip up the rules & regulations and come up with something better.
Dear Comrades, post away your score prediction here and don't feel constrained to give your best. - The game appears evenly poised and should be a real cracker.
Our State Farm Stadium will be rocking and THE place to be. However, if you don't have a ticket, then join the forum on Sunday. It will be a SPECTACULAR SHOW!

The Lions and Cardinals play some of the most bizarre football games since the 1920s. I've seen it all since before everybody moved indoors. Today, we have no more ankle-deep mud games. No more flocks of pidgeons walking around during halftime on the grassy pitch. All chalk lines are measured to the millimeter at SFS. The wind is the worst in the end zone where the cups of bake beans are served hot and spicy. So, order the salty pretzels.
I forecast a really close game. The Murray to Harrison gravy train will rumble again. Prater will finish strong.
Cardinals 27.
Lions 25.

Today, we have no more ankle-deep mud games. No more flocks of pidgeons walking around during halftime on the grassy pitch. Ah, the Halcyon Days! Quote from a certain Bill Shakespeare - Bring oil to fire, snow to their colder moods; Renege, affirm, and turn their halcyon beaks With every gale and vary of their masters Apparently, all to do with another little bird having the power to change the weather.... Lions 14 - 24 Cardinals

Years of frustration were unloaded against McVay and the Rams. It was not hard for the Cards to stir up emotion and resolve for that game. I'm curious to see how they come out against this Lions team that's not SO banged up, this Lions team they so rarely play against. Will Gannon have the guys in the take-no-prisoners frame of mind? It IS a home game. We all know the common advice about winning all of those or at least MOST of them. It's supposed to be a sign that the team is on the right track and getting competitive. "Win most of your home games.....AND give it your all for the divisional matchups.
Go Cardinals!! Cards 31 Lions 30

If the Cardinals spent all week reading their press clippings then they're going to get their tails beat. If the coaching staff did their job and has the players in the right memntal frame of mind then cards win this one...
Cards 31 Lions 24

Cards 24 Lions 21
The Lions have a good rushing defense...better than the Rams have...if they contain our run game...I don't see us scoring more than 24 points...the Lions are also better rushing the ball than passing the ball...
The Lions pass defense so far this season ranks...27th in the league...Marvin has to be unleashed against them the way he was against the Rams...
The Lions are ranked one spot above the Rams in Passing Offense...and their Rushing Offense is also good...much better than what the Rams have so far this season...

I’m going to mirror Jeffcardinalfan’s 31 for the Cardinals. Detroits DBs are banged up so it’s a matter of us picking them apart then containing the rush running the ball right at Hutch’s hole offensively. Maybe more misdirections? Defensively, we have to control their running game.
31 Cardinals 27 Lions.

Ten predictions in so far, any chance we can double this total before Sunday?
No-one has predicted a Detroit victory to-date, and (as stands) if the Lions win then there will be NO WINNERS and no MEDALS to hand out Monday morning.
A 'tactical' change (by me) might have to be made if this doesn't change by close to kick-off. Any points score would still scoop the Gold, what about these bizarre examples-
Lions 1 - 0 Cardinals Lions 100 - 50 Cardinals
