Winnable game. Lions fans have complained about their OC through 2 weeks.
I think we win this game

This this game depends on the defense. You can bet that the lines are going to be given Harrison Junior a lot of attention and it's almost shameful how many weapons the Cardinals now have on offense. And of course we'll need Connor to have another good game running the ball. It's also going to be very interested to see how the Cardinal players practice this week and whether or not they're overconfident in the Detroit game. Historically the Cardinals have played badly after a blowout win. It's up to the coaching staff and the team leaders to keep the momentum going.

Don't be fooled by the Lions' 1-1 record. DET had that game v TB won near the end of the 3rd qtr. A couple missplays and HC decisions flipped the win to TB.
DET's offense romped over TB's defense, gaining 463 yards. First downs: DET 26 to TB 14. The Lions had two scoring drives of 12 and 13 plays. That's comparable to what ARZ did to LAR on Sunday. Yet, TB won, 20-16. TB did just enough for 3 quarters to hang around and then seal off DET's QB/RB/WR to close out the game in the 4th qtr.
Why did DET lose? One eye-popping stat was TB's 5 sacks and 39 yards lost by DET. That amounts to 4-5 holding penalties, plus the downs were lost. The Lions OL got mobbed. Lastly, the Lions could not score in the 4th quarter and close out the game.
Again, mistakes and misjudgments led to the DET loss. It was that simple, IMV.

The LA Rampons fell in OT. The team worked hard. They OL was banged up. That was an odd opening season game for both teams. For DET, playing in ARZ in a late afternoon kickoff is a repeat of week 1. It's another late game for an Eastern Time Zone team.

Aiden Hutchinson is a monster and will be too much for Beachum to handle by himself, not to mention Gibbs and Montgomery are exactly the kind of backs that give us fits. Don't get me started on Amon-Ra St Brown.
The Lions are a healthy, well coached team and will be another true test of where we are as a team. All that being said, we can beat them if our offense comes out of the gate hot like the last two weeks and force Goff to have to play from behind. He went the entire game without being sacked or throwing a TD pass and even though Detroit outpaced Tampa in total yards and TOP, they couldn't score when they got to the redzone. He made a lot of very questionable decisions from the pocket and the play calling was conservative except for a fake punt called while deep in their own territory.
We actually watched most of this game and both teams played well. It was nice to see Goff and Mayfield continue to resurrect their careers.

The bucs were playing with out their best run defender in Vea and Antoine Whitfield didn’t play either.

What's interesting now is how the media is covering the Rams game. If we had won by just a few points on a last minute drive, it would have been attributed to our playing a depleted and rebuilding Rams team. Since we waffle stomped them, they are grudgingly admitting that maybe there is more to our team than originally thought.
This cautious optimism is carrying over to our game against the Lions. Even the betting line moved from the Lions being favored by 6.5 before the Rams game to 3 after the Rams game.
For the record, the Rams were favored by 2.5 at game time. How'd that work out for them?

Goff was dumped by McVay for a reason and a throw in player when the Rams paid a ransom for Stafford.
Goff threw to the turf more than open WRs in the Ram game.
The Lions have many quality players and have been getting fair return at best with their play. They are a good team…something is off with them so far this year.

Mina Kimes was complimentary of the Cards minus the defense. PFF guys really like the Cards…most national sports reporters and writers are in a wait and see even if they see things that they are in favor of with the Cards.

Lions one of the picks for the Super Bowl by many
I see a lot of people who are breathing Cardinal helium right now after Sunday.
I'd be a lot more cautious. Our defense looked pretty good against a very badly banged up line.

If Johnson has any trouble look for some extra double TE sets deployed by the Cardinals.

Tip Reiman can block well at times I love that block on the KR for DeeJay Dallas he obliterated one guy then two more on the same block. But you know Eijah Higgins is doing great I have had my eye on him, The guy gets fewer reps but make the most of them at tight end, Trey Benson did not have a good game.

Our defense looked pretty good against a very badly banged up line. This is EXACTLY right. Kyler had his best NFL game of his career Sunday. He may have an excellent year and career and never have another game as good. We just saw him at his best, and can’t reasonably expect that week in and week out, or even ever. I do think the offense can be top 10 or possibly even top 5. Where we will fail or be a legit team is on defense, and as you say the Rams are truly banged up on Oline and WR. We can’t reasonable expect 5 sacks and shutting down the run from this team either.
