Could be worse, losing 3 contributors including supposed best pash rusher hurts. Your spelling goes to hell when you are upset. LOL

BJ done for the season, Robinson, even after healing up, wont be at 100% this year. Zay Jones suspended for 5 games. Yep, sounds like a Cardinals team lol Yeah but no GM charged with drunk driving…no coaches accused of illicit sexual conduct…and an no new Owner/Employee lawsuits…seems like we are turning the corner. 👍 The season isn't over yet...

I still don't think the HC wants to tip his hand to the next 4 teams. Keeping Robby on the 53-man roster increases the HC's leverage. JG has no choice when it comes to reporting injuries to the NFL. But JG can lie like a drunk sailor to any of the 31 teams and get away with it. Deception is part of the NFL game.

Even if It's a #1 sprain DRob is out for at least 4 games. After 6 weeks of rehab he may get some playing time but won't start for another 6 weeks afterwards. About week 9 Bears or 10 Jets he should be ready to start.

Our beloved team always seems to stumble out of the starting gate in September. Maybe Petzing, Murray & Co. can score a buttload of points every weekend and then Rallis' D won't have to sweat so much. The D will still sweat a lot.

The opener is setting up like going into Tennessee a couple years ago. How the opener end puts the league on notice or the Card fans on notice.

Players designated for return from IR before the season count against a team's eight- or 10-player limit.
When a player is cleared to practice, a 21-day window begins and the player must be activated to the 53-man roster, or must be placed on season-ending injured reserve at the conclusion of that three-week period.
* By putting Robinson on 'designated for return' today, the most games he will miss is 2, unless he's not fit to practice and play. He does not count against the 53-man roster limit today. In 3 weeks, he will be counted or he's going to IR for the entire year.
JG plans to bring DR back by game 3. I can tell by the HC's body language at the last two pressers.

ez, It was reported DRob would be on IR for 4 Games then he would be activated. So I'm not sure how you got 2 EZ? I'll see if I can find that report again.

In a new rule for this year, teams can place up to two players on Injured Reserve on Tuesday. Those players can return to the team after sitting out a minimum of four games. Teams previously had to keep players on their roster through cuts.

Cardinals Trim Roster To Get To 53 For Regular Season Team moves on from Ridder as Tune wins backup job to Kyler Murray Aug 27, 2024 at 04:01 PM
Darren Urban arizonacardinals.com
"... The Cardinals also put defensive lineman Darius Robinson (calf) on Injured Reserve, meaning he will have to miss at least the first four games of the season."
So, is Urban not aware of new rules, or what?

Sorry to confuse anyone. I know about the old 4-week rule. I read the new NFL rule like a lawyer, looking for the loophole.
The date Robinson was sent to IR (Aug 26?) and the 21-day clock to reactivate him for practice and assignment to the 53-man roster or place on 1-year IR, caused me to think differently about the new NFL rule language and the HC's announcement timing.
That's how I got to Robinson missing a minimum of 2 games (BUF on 9/8 and LAR on 9/15). Using the old rule language, Robinson will be on IR a total of 6 weeks and miss 4 games! He cannot play again until Oct 6th when the Cardinals play the 49ers. I was counting the 2 dead weeks prior to the BUF game.
Am I wrong? I love testing the rulebook.
