Just stated on 98.7 that JG is reporting Darius Robinson has a CALF injury and will continue to be evaluated ... doesn't sound too bad except imaging results have not come back yet.

Not a doctor…but I would “think” or better yet…hope🙏 …that a calf type injury is better then an ACL/MCL/PCL or Achilles injury…😳

If the calf injury involves a muscle tear, he will miss substantial time to heal correctly. Even if the injury is a bad bruise, the muscle must still recover. If cells are damaged, his body needs time to remove and replace them.
I'm guessing only. In the worst case, if the issue is a muscle tear, it will take 2 months, and if it is a bad bruise, it will take a month. Robinson will have the best therapists working on his leg.

I have no idea what happened with Darius. About 15 years ago I was visiting the West Coast and spent 3 days on the beach and the day we were heading home...after waking up I stretched to reach stuff high up in a cupboard...I had an audible pop and went to the floor in one motion and instantly grabbed my calf to feel if it rolled up...I thought for sure I tore my Achilles tendon. Apparently some muscle fibers in the calf got pinched between others and in the stretching action, it snapped as it released. That calf was very painful and was tender for a couple weeks and I am not an athlete.
With big men and a player who plays on the line...I hope they take it slow, before letting him go back on the field. He is young and in top shape. The practice was in hot conditions and I am sure Darius practices hard trying to ramp up for the regular season. The new staff studies sports athletics and are very involved in the switching up and even ramping up workouts and practice as well as soft days.
One thing I learned in life...building flexibility and stretching in what ever form works best for you is vital. Activity and even building mass in weight lifting has benefits, but stretching and building flexibility is of primary importance. When you have extra strong people...building flexibility is of great importance. That is my two cents and I hope Darius didn't have too serious of an injury. I have not walked in Darius' life or his shoes and have no idea what happened with him. He is still my boy and I look forward to his return.

I think your personal example is as close to Robinson's type injury as we will know. I did read about the field and weather conditons. DC Rallis was asked about that strategy at the presser. He said it was the HC's decision to practice outdoors and mentally prepare the guys for summer weather games. Robinson's calf injury could have happened at home or on the field. Athletes bodies are honed to perfection. Sometimes, "perfect breaks." Murray knows all about that too.

People can pray that the injury is just to the plantaris muscle. . .
Look it up!

I am out of town and not keeping up with news as much as I would like. Any update on this? The only update I could find was this, but it was posted 20 hours ago:
Later in the day, ESPN Cardinals reporter Josh Weinfuss spoke with a source that offered a glimmer of hope when it came to Robinson's injury.
"In other Cardinals' news, a source told me that Cardinals rookie defensive lineman Darius Robinson is 'hopefully going to be OK.'" Weinfuss put on Twitter/X.

Ian Raport on X says scans reveal a multi-week time of recovery. It is possible he starts season on IR. If so the soonest he could play is week 5.
