I have no idea what happened with Darius. About 15 years ago I was visiting the West Coast and spent 3 days on the beach and the day we were heading home...after waking up I stretched to reach stuff high up in a cupboard...I had an audible pop and went to the floor in one motion and instantly grabbed my calf to feel if it rolled up...I thought for sure I tore my Achilles tendon. Apparently some muscle fibers in the calf got pinched between others and in the stretching action, it snapped as it released. That calf was very painful and was tender for a couple weeks and I am not an athlete. With big men and a player who plays on the line...I hope they take it slow, before letting him go back on the field. He is young and in top shape. The practice was in hot conditions and I am sure Darius practices hard trying to ramp up for the regular season. The new staff studies sports athletics and are very involved in the switching up and even ramping up workouts and practice as well as soft days. One thing I learned in life...building flexibility and stretching in what ever form works best for you is vital. Activity and even building mass in weight lifting has benefits, but stretching and building flexibility is of primary importance. When you have extra strong people...building flexibility is of great importance. That is my two cents and I hope Darius didn't have too serious of an injury. I have not walked in Darius' life or his shoes and have no idea what happened with him. He is still my boy and I look forward to his return. I couldn't agree me concerning your statement - One thing I learned in life...building flexibility and stretching in what ever form works best for you is vital. Activity and even building mass in weight lifting has benefits, but stretching and building flexibility is of primary importance. When you have extra strong people...building flexibility is of great importance. One thing I deplore is soft tissue injuries from athletes in their 20's when a regimen of proper stretching/flexibility could have prevented the injury. Here are my thoughts to DR and impact for the 53 man roster since the post above cites Darren Urban's note concerning not counting toward the 53. - CMC also has a calf injury which has kept him sidelined for most of the preseason ... wonder if it isn't a similar injury. 49ers don't have a deep RB room but haven't signed a player so they must think he'll be ready to play game #1.
- Team probably has a difficult decision because they probably feel he could maybe be ready by game #3 or #4 but the safe thing is to put him on IR and preserve an extra spot on the 53 man roster.
- If DR goes on IR, does this mean maybe Demercado and M. Carter both make the 53 man roster and so the initial roster will have 5 RB's? ... or conversely, does this help Ridder to make the 53 man roster and carry 3 QB's rather than cutting him? It seems like all other bubble guys at other positions could be put on PS and not have much fear to being plucked off PS from another team except for certainly M. Carter or Ridder.
- With the ability to carry 16 players on PS including 8 vets, it seems like the CUTS next Tuesday for vets will be made for salary cap reasons ... could we see a lot of trades this coming week ? Here is an article listing a plethora of possible pre-season trades with veterans on the block - Updated PreSeason NFL Trade Block Possibilities
- FYI - One additional note from the article by Darren Urban on azcardinals.com states - Now, a team can place up to two players on IR at final cutdown and still be allowed to bring him back during the regular season.

Tough, tough break for D-Rob and the organization. I was looking forward to watching him on the field this upcoming Sept. Hopefully we see him sooner than later and at 100%.

BJ done for the season, Robinson, even after healing up, wont be at 100% this year. Zay Jones suspended for 5 games. Yep, sounds like a Cardinals team lol

Thanks for the additional IR rule changes. As per injuries, Hjalte said not to worry he has strong tendons. Budda said his injury last year involved a tear from the bone. The modern athlete has the ability to get bigger and stronger. There is also the challenge of balance of the muscle groups and having muscle groups strong enough to tear in somewhat normal activities. Add collisions and stress in repeating violent activities. How do Martial arts people break stacks of wood or brick? By technique and repetition of contact to build bone density. Genetics play a role as per Hjalte's comment. Violence and contact play a role. Smaller people seem to be able to push through injuries better. Maybe the smaller the mass the smaller the ultimate pain and injury. AS per DRob he built his body from a slender build as do many NFL trench players do. His un-natural body mass and large size works against him as does the violence in his position. It is easy to see the value in MHJ's off-season choices as well as not partaking in SR Bowl or combine...he didn't need to...so why put himself at risk? His focus and wisdom in preparing for the long NFL season are legitimate. JG talked about MHJ's daily routine, maybe the rest of the team can benefit from MHJ's example.

Yep, sounds like a Cardinals team lol Also sounds better than what some teams are dealing with. Depth is of vital importance...thus I continue to push for new PS rules and player development rules within a team so the team can better protect additional players they develop.

To me, Robinson is a bigger deal than normal. Because they gave up their number 1 draft pick last year with the Texans deal, so this is the guy who is suppose to show it was a good decision. Crossing fingers...

Just stated on 98.7 that JG is reporting Darius Robinson has a CALF injury and will continue to be evaluated ... doesn't sound too bad except imaging results have not come back yet. depends what level of calf injury. Sounds like just maybe he will miss a few games if that if that is all it is.

I just want them to make sure it is fully healed before getting him out there. I hate preseason the football is unwatchable and too many injuries, I guess preseason is a necessary evil.

Since the actual injury is a mystery and the length of downtime is not known the need to consider the plans without him are on the table.
Murphy IMO would be PS with a healthy DRob. DRob is by far superior and when this happens it opens a door of opportunity for another player to step up and others to step up their game. Murphy is an in-house option for the rotation.
I caught a bit of AZ Cardinal Fan podcast with Mythic AZ from yesterday. They are a couple of unrealistic podcasters who are trying to inject dumb thoughts on a real problem the Cards are facing. Not going public with all of their information is or can be in the team's best interests. A couple of kids podcasting in their basement don't get it.
The reality will be revealed soon and the Cards may have to sign another defender or two with the edge and DL injuries or the players in-house will have to step it up.
Although podcasters without special or inside insight have entertainment value they offer little to no substance or insight of value. It is as though they play Madden so they are experts.

Yep, sounds like a Cardinals team lol Yeah but no GM charged with drunk driving…no coaches accused of illicit sexual conduct…and an no new Owner/Employee lawsuits…seems like we are turning the corner. 👍

Yep, sounds like a Cardinals team lol Agreed but the difference is other teams draft better and have better depth. Even Robinson was a "stretch" pun intended at where he was drafted. I do not agree with the pundits and don't think this draft was particularly strong or a "A" or "A-" as it was given by many. Remember last year's draft was also highly touted initially.
Anyway, I was not thinking playoffs until 2026 season realistically. Hoping we draft better next year
The over under for the Cardinals is 5.5 games. I would bet on the under. The lack of talent on this team is astonishing

Help me out. Didn't JG and MO carry a couple 'dinged up' guys on the 53-man roster vice send them to mandatory 4-week IR in 2023?
Was some skullduggery in play in 2023? Might JG and MO carry Robinson for all of SEPT? I'm optimistic. First, he might get well, and second the D definitely needs help.

Could be worse, losing 3 contributors including supposed best pash rusher hurts.
