Let's see. . . .
Last year at this time the odd makers were predicting a grand total of. . . zero wins, and the Cardinals shocked the football world, rolling up a grand total of four wins!
This year the smart money is predicting a grand total of. . . five wins.
If they are just as accurate as last year, it means that to get the actual number of wins you have to add four to their five, giving a total of nine wins, which will be a winning season and maybe even playoff time!!
In any event, the the vast infusion of talent and the skilled coaching the Cardinals now claim, this will be the last year the Cardinals will not be going deep in the playoffs!

7-9. I'm optimistic this year for an entertaining season. So you're guessing 7-9-1? Dear me...I hate tie games.

I'm pitching for an eleven win season. Wow. I'd be ecstatic with 10! Tell me...you think they can do three or four Ws in the NFCW?

I don't know, but I think the pundits are starting to catch up with what many here are thinking. We are going to be a team that will surprise. Maybe not SB stuff, but if good teams overlook us, they will find themselves fighting for their lives to pull out a win. To be honest, I wish the pundits would still consider us inferior. It's so much more fun when we prove them wrong.

Tell me...you think they can do three or four Ws in the NFCW? No reason why not. Three wins would be equilibrium in my view and four would set us on the path to an excellent season. The NFCW has the reputation for being a huge obstacle to the Cardinals progression. - A couple of years back this was very valid, but now, I feel, the idea is a little overblown. For sure, SF will be a very dangerous opponent in 2024, but there is no reason to fear them, or for that matter the other two.

Cool to look back on. I was feeling 8-9 felt right, and posted 9 to put us over .500, a good accomplishment after a 4 win season. When I jotted down my schedule predictions I thought we’d be 4-6 right now, and that one of those wins would be over the Commanders. I honestly felt 4-3 after the bye would be likely, with 5-2 possible if we were lucky and Seattle as bad as I thought.
As things stand, devongent’s pitch for 11 games seems more possible than an 8 win season! Let’s go!

As things stand, devongent’s pitch for 11 games seems more possible than an 8 win season! Let’s go! Always good to circle back to see where you may have been wrong or too timid to make bold choices. With risk comes a greater chance of failure as well as greater success. The ultimate hot or cold over lukewarm. I was more positive on SMB, Nichols and Jones as FA signings and will own it. Mack Wilson was my favorite...I put a ton of value on off-ball LBs...maybe the SK in me. I love Baron Browning signing as well. One issue I have had with K White in 2023 was his lack of ability to shed blocks...he is improving and Mack is making White better. One area I did separate my predictions over many was at OL...The depth over high end quality as well as the noticeable quality of coaching and players taking coaching at the OL positions was key in my thoughts. I was early and bold on Hjalte and similar on Evan Brown...Like DH I liked Conner Williams, but was okay with the passing on him...DH was bold on wanting C Williams...it looks like it wasn't as miss. I have liked Colon in 2023 and how he could play tackle...he was a natural center or guard and has been great over good in what he has done in 2024. Beach is Beach and what a great player to have...he is more durable than I expected. Having 3 players (Hjalte, Brown and Colon) who are all centers naturally who can play in sync and the high level of communication and understanding of each other is showing to be a special trio in the IOL. J Williams I like and feared is speed or ability to block great speed rushers was and is my concern. Tip is my favorite rookie pick and I stand by my thoughts on his value...I do think he will be an occasional receiving threat...he is still great without being a receiving threat. A double digit win prediction at minimum is where I stand then and now...at this point a 4-5 loss record in 2024 seems very possible with the remaining schedule and quality of play in the desert. Devongent's 11 win year has some cushion IMHO at this point. I can't wait to see the defense with DRob and Browning...depth at positions having too many injuries.

If we happen to win only 9 games this season, will I be disappointed? Not at all...for us to go from a 4 win season to a 9 win season shows very good progress in our rebuild...
But if the team continues to play the way they have been playing...we will more than likely exceed 9 wins this season. And after FA and The Draft in 2025...we should be a real playoff contender....
I am pretty happy with Melton, Garrett and Rabbit...they will only get better...I know we need to focus on a Pass Rusher next season. However, I personally would prefer that we take a CB in the first round and even trade up to get either the best or second best CB in the draft...
Let's not forget that Ojulari was taken @ the #41 overall pick when drafted. We took DRob in the first round...and we just picked up Browning...I think we can FA or take a Pass Rusher with our 2nd pick in next years draft and end up with a pretty good Defensive Line...
Let's not forget that we still have Dante Stills...last season he started 8 games. He had 3.5 Sacks. This season he has started 3 games. He has 3.5 Sacks...hmm...
I am just saying that I think Rallis right now just might be close enough to having a good pass rush if we just add one more pass rusher via FA or Draft(2nd round pick next season). That is why I would be all in on us taking a CB in the first round next draft...
