Hopefully they will prove their haters wrong and start winning.

Druid is okay. Clay is HOGWASH!!!
The MSN writer Druid quotes Mike Clay from ESPN. Clay is a fan of the New York and LA teams. Above, in his YT video, he shouts out that the NY Jets are the NFL's #1 team. That's exactly what he said in 2023, a few weeks before the Rodgers horrible tendon injury. The NY Jets went nowhere in 2023 with the great roster and the B/U quarterbacks. The team is not #1 in 2024, with or without Rodgers.
Clay is an ESPN coast-town Toadie. NFL teams not in California and New York are all ranked down, per Clay.
Neither is the Arizona Cardinals' roster among the worst in the NFL in 2024. Ossenfort is doing a good job of fixing the roster in 2023 and 2024. Druid highlights that fact, making Clay's claim mute.

And as I had said in another thread, these are all just opinions. We have our own as well. Heck just had a discussion that seemed to eek another poster that I believe this team has some holes still and they will finish with 6-8 wins this year. Which I think is really good in the second year of a true rebuild. But that is just my opinion. The season could show this team has all the holes plugged up and they win 10 plus games and I come back here and eat crow. I would really like to eat crow this season.

The more national writers submit projections the more they show how poor they are at their jobs. I understand having a favorite team, but when personal bias doesn’t allow you to do your job effectively it exposes their limited abilities in a profession they chose. If they are team writers that is one thing…if they are posing as national writers that is another. There is a lack of professionalism in the sports writing as a whole with more attention for the dramatic than substance. With the amount of money involved it is surprising that a small pod cast with little schooling in broadcasting can have better content than those with many resources at their disposal and stronger skill set on paper. Many of these poor quality projections can be used by those who slighted by the many oversights and errors in player or team talent.

I wonder how many of those anointed and promoted big-name NFL experts think about their team projections. Do they care about Research? Bias? Math? AKA, journalistic integrity? I'm okay with winning teams getting the bulk of sports media attention. Those teams earned the limelight. I shake my head when sports writers say something like, "The Cardinals football team has a history of underperforming so I will automatically relegate the team to the ranking root cellar." The Cardinals are scheduled for 1 national TV game, starting at 9pm ET on the West coast, in 2024! The Cardinals/Chargers game is the second game of an ESPN doubleheader, meaning half the country will not watch the game and half the NFL audience will be tuned to the other game, leaving the Cardinals with scant TV exposure again. The Cardinals 2024 season is an opportunity to change minds for 2025 primetime scheduling. Hopefully, a bunch of 2024-2034 wins for a full decade will also reeducate some folks and cause a change in forecasting rankings. One year of wins won't change any minds. A decade of winning will help change a lot of minds. A dynasty run will do the trick.

Below is a post showing my prediction for this season WELL before our discussion:

"IMO the Cards are still far apart from being a playoff team. I think 6-8 wins next year is the best they could do. Alot of young talent to infuse and the defense is still pretty bad. Going to take another draft at least to get that situated. "
You also claimed I didnt think MHJ was a WR1, again you are wrong:

It is okay to be overlooked...I just do not like the lack of professionalism by many as you have outlined. A bunch of chumps...LOL

It starts with the culture on this team. This team is far from the worst roster. I predict this draft is going to start changing that as is Paris, etc.from last year. Year 1 to 2, draft, receiving, rbs,fa,D etc factor in. The article is biased and uninformed.

I really could care less. What I do remember was you saying the roster is "full of holes", primarily due to the fact you have zero faith in any draft pick including MHJ, and zero faith even in any of the FA signings. Yet NOW you're saying they'll possibly double the '23 W total. 🙄🙄

Well, considering that the Cardinals were far and away the best four win team in the NFL last year, and that they are tanned, rested, and ready to Rock n' Roll. . .
Let's just see what that hater says at the end of the year!!
Also consider that Jonathan Gannon had the Fourth Best Record among all the NFL Rookie Head Coaches, and you can see that there is plenty of room for optimism!!

They don't know. If it happens, "See I told you" & if not, " I knew they were special".

Cardinal's were a 4 win team last season. You can't sugar coat or put lip-stick on the proverbial pig and sell it to the east coast, biased, sports networks with only 4 wins. The forum brethren here watched the entire season no matter what time slot the Cardinals played in. We saw what we saw.
We saw an under-talented roster play their a--es off week in and week out. We saw what veteran roster leadership remains, completely buy-in to the Ossenfort/Gannon regime.
We saw a franchise QB, who had completely bought into his new OC and head coach, work his arse off in rehab and PT to make sure he got his butt back on the field by week 9. K1 has been all in since day one of the new regime.
Cardinals are in a good place now. Too bad the east coast journalists only watch the early time slot games. They'll watch Mahomes or the Dallas Cowboys in the 4pm est. but that's about it. Most of those talking heads are reading box scores or youtube summary videos to prep for their panel shows. ESPN being the worst, imo.

Hopefully they will prove their haters wrong and start winning. I usually ignore these journalistic 'prediction pieces' like the plague. They are usually meaningless and fill people's heads with either idle optimism or unfounded negativity. I just wonder where the Houston Texans were touted to finish this time last year....?
