Guess we have our back up QB.
I like it. Moore has not been used efficiently by two different staffs. Dortch is the man and needs these touches.
Ridder is a better back up than Tune at this point and you can go .500 with him in a pinch and maybe even better. Worth a shot…

Was 2022 draft pick, 17 games starting. Very young with great upside as backup. Rondale was on the bubble. This is another good upgrade in the backup qb room.

Clear what Monti is doing in FA. Filling basic holes with solid players. Really looking at draft as the future stars.

Ridder is a better back up than Tune at this point I'd like to see proof of that, but hope it won't be necessary. Meantime, I'll consider him as a cork in our lifeboat. As a trade, not a bad deal. We are now covered for QB backups, but I'd still like a draftee late - looking for another Purdy.

While I don't hate the trade, please think about the following. Most board members say Murray's lack of success is due to lack of support. Well, Riddler had tons of offensive support in Atl and didn't even go 0.500. If he couldn't win with Pitts and all the other talent he had, why would he win here? Or does lack of success have more to do with the actual QB and not the supporting cast? Just something to think about given all the excuses I hear made for Kyler.
Once again, I don't hate this move. But I'm not sure we didn't lose out because Rondale Moore has talent. He's just little so Kyler doesn't make smaller WRs look as good as taller QBs do. And there's a distinct possibility Moore could excel elsewhere. Heck, I've seen Rondale actually lead the league in Madden 'simulations'. So the computers definitely see talent there.
To me, I think this move is an acknowledgment that we wanted someone like Nix but don't think we can get him in the 3rd round. And Monti clearly doesn't want to spend high capital on a QB

Arizona just love getting trash qb. As the saying goes "one man's trash is another man's treasure". - This type of wheeler-dealing makes 'Trading' both interesting and unpredictable. I think the transactions are good for all parties, especially for the two player's themselves. - I'm not saying Desmond Ridder is a scoop, but he has had significant playing time in the NFL and that does stand for something, especially at the pivotal position of Quarterback. Whatever your thoughts on Desmond Ridder he does fill a need at QB2/ QB3. Perhaps he requires a period out of the firing line, and this is an opportunity for him to re-group and then move forward his career.

Yep. But does he have touch too? None in that clip.
Time will tell though - if we get a chance to see.
The video reminded me of Skelton.

I wonder if a certain member on here thinks they traded the wrong "little dude"?

Desmond Ridder it's definitely an upgrade from Driscoll and some of the other possible backups. Still wouldn't be a bad idea to take a quarterback with one of our 37th round picks and put him on a practice squad. If the little dude goes down at least Ritter has NFL starting experience. Though now the quarterback room is very very very young. Time to bring Kurt Warner back as an assistant quarterback coach. I bet he would do it.

I like this trade a lot. Monti may have acquired Ridder just to keep Kyler sharp thru out this long off season. Meaning show up for OTAs and compete during practice drills. Show up for camp prepared and well studied with Petzig's offense.
Rondale unfortunately was a Keim disciple who ran a great 40 in which Keim thought he was the smartest GM in the 2021 draft by drafting him. Rondale, to the new OC's credit, was used more effectively than KK ever did in two seasons. Hope Moore has success in Atlanta.

Part of me has this feeling of yet another Colt McCoy type move even though he's younger. Hope I'm wrong.
