Could be the key to the season, can Coach create a strong force with our upcoming version of the CB2 opposite PP?
They didn't seem aggressive on this position in the draft, so I take that as they have it covered in other ways. I hope.

DRC would be the most immediate solution. I don't know how much he'll cost but this screams of a Keim time special unless some other team sweeps him up beforehand.
Give him a one or two year deal. It would shore up the secondary assuming bethea and budda can keep doing their thing.

This will be a wide open training camp battle with just a slight nod going to Brandon Williams, I just hope things all click for him this summer.

I really want to see Wilks' defense this year, if he improves it over last year with the new 4/3 system they should be fun to watch.
If we can shut down teams, this will allow DJ and Co to run up 21-24 points a game and make winning quite likely, this seems like the only formula to win games this year.

Well for one thing, when people complain during the draft we haven't addressed a particular position, you have to remember that it's not possible to adequately address every hole in one offseason when you have as many needs as we had going into this off-season. At the top of our needs were a young QB, OL, WRs, and CB2. We've now addressed QB with a player most of us can agree is a great prospect, grabbed a talented WR whom should be able to contribute immediately thanks to him being adept at routes, and we snagged our eventual replacement for Shipley (we hope) as well as upgraded the RG position with Pugh. That's a pretty solid job for one offseason and mind you that we were rather limited in cap this year. Next year as most know, we'll have multiple times the cap to play with and could be one of the big spenders. It's going to be an exciting off-season next year. The other point is that Wilks is known for coaching up young CBs and he quite possibly will polish a stone into a gem here. He can evaluate the guys we already have on the roster and determine the likelihood that he can turn that player into a starter. If he doesn't think it's in them, I think he'd press Keim harder at drafting one early. That said, he may have felt we needed to but based on their board and what else we needed, felt we had to go elsewhere this year. CB could very well be a top 2 pick in the next draft depending on what we do in FA and how players like Brandon Williams progress this season. Let's all cross our fingers that Williams and Nkimdiche take large strides this year and earning starting spots. Oh, and the other Williams (Chad) too for that matter At least there's been positive buzz for both Brandon and Robert so far. In Wilks we'll trust.

I have little faith in the current group of CB not PP. Hopefully their a surprise from one of them.

I think after PP everyone else is on a level playing field. I expect Brandon Williams to be given every opportunity to earn the position, but expect strong competition from Marcus Williams and whichever veteran CB Keim will bring in during the summer. Benwikere has experience in Wilks' system, but seems more like a slot CB. I would say he is a strong bet to make the roster due to those factors. I don't expect to see a lot from Campbell this year but you never know

IMO, it wouldn't take much effort to do just that. (opinion based on Brandon's past performance and prior coaching though, so there may be a tiny chance with the new regime)

The one thing that does give me hope is Steve Wilks. Can he and his staff turn one of these wannabe #2s into a legit player worthy of playing opposite Patrick Peterson? I have hope. Coaches can make a difference.

9 CBs on the roster Not named Pat P.
I think HC Wilks can make a decent show of getting one of them up to being at least an avg CB2.

Good question, but I don't think there will be any answers till After the June 1st date is reached.
Wilks and Staff will assess the current Crop of players starting with the Rookie Camp tomorrow. Then after some evaluations from on field activities who knows?
Unfortunately for Reid with his filing of the lawsuit, that will hinder his playing for Any NFL team this year if not resolved quickly. Breeland last I heard is still coming off an injury, so big ? mark as to availability for him. And as for Vaccaro and Boston, still a long time till Training camp starts. They are at the mercy of the collective league teams' injury reports and needs.

I just have this feeling that by game 8 the rookie Campbell will be starting. Has everything it takes and I hope Wilks can coach him up. Not really sold on any of the other CB on the roster.
