What a good bye week for us. The Houston pick moved from #22 in round 1 and #86 in round 3, to #15 and #81. I don’t think the remaining Monday games will change the positions. Four more weeks to go!

Awesome! If Stroud is dinged badly, that will affect the rest of the season for HOU. I noted that the #1 pick also changed on Monday. The Cards and PATs strength of schedule values flip-flopped overnight after SNF. Cards are back in the #2 spot per NY this morning. I expect this process to continue until all regular season games are done and the finally SOS values for all 32 teams are settled. 4 teams play MNF tonight. More SOS moves will happen by Tuesday.

I expect this process to continue until all regular season games are done and the finally SOS values for all 32 teams are settled. 4 teams play MNF tonight. More SOS moves will happen by Tuesday. Couple of things - - According to Tankathon - Cardinals have the #2 SOS in the entire NFL with only the Bengals having a tougher schedule by .004 -- Latest Tankathon Draft Order
- Note on the Tankathon link there are four team at 7-6 but the Texans have the lowest SOS which is why the Cards pick has moved all the way up to #15.
- Stroud injury doesn't look good - Stroud hit back of head hard on MetLife turf
- If Stroud is out this coming week and they lose the road game vs. Titans, it really hurts their playoff chances. However depending on how the remaining weeks play outs, it is a possibility that the Titans at Colts in Week #18 (last week of season) could be for the remaining playoff spot in the AFC.
- Really, Really hope Devito helps propel the NY Giants to a victory at home vs. Packers tonight - would be their 3rd win in a row and take the Giants out of the hunt for the #3 draft position.
- When you look at the remaining games on schedule, both the Seahawks and Rams could finish at 9-8 and make the playoffs. So 3 of the 4 NFC West teams could very well make the playoffs. The potential bright side of this is if the Texans just split their remaining games 2-2 and they are not in the playoffs, then I believe Cards pick will most likely move up from #15 as all three of these teams (Rams/Seahawks/Titans) would then be 9-8. Texans have the weakest SOS of these 3 teams --- double benefit is the Rams/Seahawks move down the drafting order and the Texans (i.e. Cards) pick right in front of the Rams/Seahawks.

Surprising Giants and Titans wins help to lock us in to likely the #2-#4 picks. The one that could still really move is the Houston pick. There are currently 13 teams with either a 6-7 or 7-6 record!

HOU's next 4 games are TEN, CLE, TEN, IND. If Stroud plays all 4 games, HOU should go 3-1 (the CLE D is real!) and maybe 4-0. If Stroud misses the first TEN game due to concussion protocol, HOU could go 2-2. I don't see HOU losing 3 of 4 and certainly not 4 of 4 even if Stroud does not play again in 2023. A bunch of 6-7 and 7-6 teams will mostly split games, going 2-2. So odds favor the ARZ second 1st round pick being in the middle part of the 1st round right where it is today. That's an excellent spot for taking a stud DL/OL.

Week 15 looks to be mostly about hoping the Texans lose and other AFC teams in the 6-7 to 7-6 range get wins, in order to keep the Texans out of the playoffs and our Texans first rounder to remain at #18 or better. If they make the playoffs, all bets are off.
Tomorrow night I think an Oakland win would be preferable. Both Oakland and the Chargers have 5 wins, but the Chargers look doomed after another starting QB is out for the season with Herbert’s injury. Maybe Oakland can be competitive as the AFC closes out the season and pull ahead of the Texans. Probably not.
The middling AFC teams we want to win are the Bengals, Broncos, Bills and Jaguars. The Colts and Steelers are both 7-6 and play each other.
A Commanders win over the Rams would be helpful in securing our #2-#3 pick, but the Rams winning a few may push them above Houston in the final rankings, which could get us a spot better. In fact, Seahawks, Rams and Broncos wins could move the Houston pick from #16 to #13. The Commanders are awful…I doubt they pull off a win. Similarly, a Seahawks win could eventually help us move up a spot.
A Patriots win over the Chiefs seems unlikely, but the weather in Foxboro helped them this week and might again. Forecast is for rain on Monday. Let’s hope it moves up to Sunday. Carolina faces the Falcons in NC…a possible upset?
Most important, of course, is a loss by Houston against Tenn, who they play twice these last four games. This is the game in Tenn, so let’s hope the Titans win the home game.

Excerpt from link above - Ryans also added "I don't think many guys have come back the following week after a concussion." I don't think the Texans are risking their Franchise QB to play this coming Sunday especially if he doesn't clear concussion protocol by late Friday.

At today’s practice, the Texans have no Steoud, no N. Collins, no W. Anderson, no B. Cashman, no T. Thomas, no C. Harris and no S. Rankins. Several other players, including L. Tunsil, are limited. Lets see what happens the next three days.

I hope you're right. I want Marvin Harrison Jr and to finally and I mean finally have an Arizona Cardinal team with a good offensive line.

Stroud did not practice Thursday and is trending towards not playing Sunday. Will Anderson has also been reported today as not likely to play. Several other Houston players are either out or questionable as well.
“Mills will once again be under center if Stroud is unable to go. The third-year quarterback is 5-19-1 across 26 NFL starts while serving as Houston's primary starter in 2021 and 2022. This is by far the best roster Houston's ever fielded around Mills, but the downgrade in quarterback play will be seismic.
The Texans currently sit in a six-way tie for the final two Wild Card playoff spots in the AFC. Losing Stroud for a winnable game against the Titans could be a death knell to their postseason hopes.”
Really important game for our draft. More important than our own game, probably.
