Cards need to run effectively early as they did in Game #4 of the 2021 Season vs. Rams -- Must "beat up" A. Donald early with double team runs. Leonard Floyd wants to rush the passer but is not great in run defense. Sunday establish the run early and then take shots downfield as the Rams depth in secondary will be tested as starters T. Hill (IR), another 1st string CB David Long (DNP Thursday) and often used safety Jordan Fuller also DNP on Thursday.
Wear down the RAMS front line with effective running and with new replacements in the secondary, KM1 should be able to finally hit Hollywood Brown on a long pass.
On defense for AZ, looks like Mullen will make his Cardinal debut. Stafford does not have yet a rapport with WR Robinson and can Murphy keep Kupp under 80 yards? Rams Center will probably not play so my idea of doing a loop stunt and have I. Simmons blitz up the middle in Stafford's face could really, really work possible even more than once.
Interesting that Kupp and Maxx Crosby went to Eastern Michigan and have become maybe the two (2) best small college players in the NFL. NOTE: For their size, both Kupp and Crosby have VERY, VERY good 3-cone times (6.75 and 6.89, respectively)

Only players definitely out whom were on the injury report are Zeke Turner LB and Rondale Moore WR. You know what -- less Z. Turner means more snaps for Simmons and no Rondale Moore means more Greg Dortch ... I am fine with those trade-offs. I do anxiously await for Antonio Hamilton and Antoine Wesley hopefully both after the Carolina game.

The at-home win drought will end someday. How about next Sunday? Cardinals offense has to stay on the field and then score TDs. Use as much clock as possible. No more OT games.

I don't know....this game scares me....after all the Rams won the Super bowl last year.....and they have Kupp...lol As much as I liked last week's game.....but the more that I think about it, it was almost a one in a million win. There was at least 4 or 5 times where in baseball talk, it was the bottom of the ninth, two outs, two strikes and they ( KM ) yet somehow made it happen. It was a wonderful thing to behold. The thing that gives me the most hope, I think the team now realizes they can do it and it made them even hungrier. Everyone stepped up and made it happen even when all seemed lost. If things don't go south, this should be a hell of a game and a sweet win.

...and to my mind this is a great time to be playing The Rams. Have we a player on the roster who is capable of going one-to-one with Kupp, competing and giving a good account of themselves? Who will be trusted and assigned that task? A big opportunity for someone in our secondary to step-up and deliver! - At least this match-up will be very illuminating and post-game we will have a clearer understanding of where the team stands; have we got a gem CB/ Safety player who is capable of defending against premier talent from the slot? (If Cooper has a field-day at our expense, I will then know which position will be top of my research list for Draft 2023!).

(If Cooper has a field-day at our expense, I will then know which position will be top of my research list for Draft 2023!). You make a good point about what kind of player to look for in the future. He has to be one who can fill this assigned role of coverage. Patrick Peterson was that kind of player early in his career who could cover Kupp. In my opinion, A great place to look is always to strongly consider drafting CBs from THE SEC conference in college. Here is why 1. The level of competition, The defensive backs in the SEC constantly have to face the best WRS in college. The level of competition is a level up over most other conferences. 2, Coaching more pro level type coaching There are other good conferences such as the ACC but this is overall my feeling on where to go. Of course there are always exceptions, The DB coach out of Washington gave us great players like Budda Baker and Byron Murphy.

Three Saturday morning thoughts:
(1) Kupp is always going to be Kupp and he is almost unstoppable at every target. However, Kupp is not immune to the effect of hard contact after a catch. Last year at the first game, he took some post-catch shots in the torso. Then, he began to show signs of 'hearing footsteps' on crossing routes and became much less effective. Defense by committee is the best the Cardinals have to counter Kupp now. So, I expect Kupp to pretty much have his way against the Cardinals defense until someone puts some pads on him. I don't want Kupp to be hurt but I want him to respect the defense and earn his receptions.
(2) I saw the latest Cardinals Hurt List released late Friday. This news is encouraging for the Cardinals chances versus the Rams on Sunday. After a grueling training camp and pre-season schedule, so said the HC, the Cardinals starters and backups are slowly getting well. If the treatment trend continues, by the time Hopkins rejoins the team in October, there should be no starters on the Suspension List and Hurt List. Then, it will be smooth sailing for the Cardinals into 2023 and the playoffs.
(3) Rams, Panthers, Eagles, and Seahawks are the next four games. The W/L results will be somewhere around 1-5 to 5-1. And, we will know if the Cardinals are a dud team or a playoff team even before Hopkins catches his first pass of the 2022 season.
Have a great weekend!
