I know this will appear to some reading as a crazy thought but if anyone knows personnel in the front office or the team, there is a very important SIMPLE thing K2 must start doing ESPECIALLY against the Rams. Someone need to tell K2 it is VITAL he does this simple thing which is to COVER HIS MOUTH with the play sheet when making play call .. he is the only coach I see which doesn't hold up the play sheet to at least mouth-level.
As a background, there are several articles (many by the Boston Globe) which discuss how Bill Belichick has a "rain man' photographic memory coach on his staff named Ernie Adams. Adams doesn't have a football background but his "rain man-like" abilities is why SPYGATE ever became football lexicon. Former Patriots coach Mancini (HC of the Jets) caught the Pats with a camera at the top of the stadium getting formation views of every play -- of course Mancini knew the Pats do this because he was on Belichick's staff (BTW: ever wonder why assistant/coordinator coaches under Belichick rarely succeed??
During Spygate-era teams used to just signal in defensive signals via hand signals or analog communication on the type of defense to run and Mr. Ernie Adams photographic memory at halftime could memorize the signal given and compare them to the photo shots taken during 1st half. So in the 2nd half he can stand next to Belichick and tell him once the hand signal was given from the other sideline and be able to tell Bill EXACTLY what defense the opponent would be in. Pretty easy for BB to give TB the signal and get an audible to take advantage of this "inside" information. Who is Ernie Adams and what does he do for the Pats?
Well the NFL in investigating SPYGATE (2007-2008) over the next few years went to the GREEN DOT digital communications system in 2012 so this kind of thing couldn't continue.
Fast forward now to photographic memory Sean McVay who could easily match up a lip reader of K2 previous games with the verbage for an offensive play. McVay then studies film for each play run by the Cards and his photo-memory could match up the play call to the exact play run by the offense. That would be quite an advantage. Of course this could be done also against the DC of teams but VJ is pretty good at covering up his mouth when he provides the communication to the Green Dot player. Here is how good Sean McVay's photgraphic memory is - Coach Sean McVay remembers EVERY play he called in 2017
If you don't think McVay is capable of doing this when working with a lip reader and gain the biggest advantage over the Cardinals, then I guess it also isn't hot in Phx in the summer. I even wonder if other teams are doing a variation of this AND this is the reason for K2's 2nd half collapses.
Putting any more stuff on KK's plate during playcalling could cause him to get every play into the QB late. We suspect KK's memory is not that good. I also doubt KK is going to cover his mouth with the play sheet because then he can't read what he needs to pass to the QB. Meanwhile, McVay is lipreading.
If one were being nasty, one could suggest KK have his house guest read each play to him to repeat and
explain before retiring every night. Call it honey-home study, with an optionsl reward afterward for good
work.
It's difficult to believe the author of each play cannot recall them from memory. Yet KK is not dumb, and was
lauded in college as a good scholar-athlete. He has a decent Wonderlic score. It must be a memory recall
issue as you state above, with possible near vision weakness. Maybe he and AJ Green both need vision checks?
It is a problem with easy solutions, waiting to be put in place. Why has nobody employed by the Cardinals noticed and asked why? Is it because they are all seated on the same side of the field and don't see what
opponents and fans can see from the other side or on TV?

If you go back to K2's first season he did cover up his mouth a bit more than half the time (it is now 0%) so I believe it could be vanity as being a bit older he may need to have "readers' to see close better. This also maybe the reason it is taking him more time to get the darn play call in. If he is not going to flip on "readers" (as do other coaches in the league) and if it is not a vision issue, then an easy solution it to cover his mouth with his oft-hand while reading the play. I know K2 wants to beat McVay bad since they are friends so I am hoping K2 adjusts this weekend.

Hopefully the 3 OL - Pugh/Hudson/Beachum are just getting a rest day since Sunday they probably ran more yards than they usually run in a month.

Thursday a.m., 9/22: Fox Sports just announced that Sunday's NFL broadcast for the 4:25 ET slot is the Packers and Buccaneers. I bet that Fox would NOT show the Rams at Cardinals game. My bet hit. Whoohoo. Rodgers and Brady are money.
Oh well, I still have the ESPN Gamecast (updates are slow as mollasses), the NFL Redzone (20 yard line to goal line if the Network cares), and the NFL+ (up to 60 seconds audio delay).
I pay Cox for Fox Sports, ESPN, and NFL Red Zone. I pay NFL for NFL+. I'm bleeding dollars.

Rams 10-1 against Cards in last 11 games…Cards 0-6 in last 6 home games…honest question to ask…have we really closed the gap either in our roster and/or our play…probably not…but lucky for us the Rams may very well have with some roster loss/turnover…player injuries and mixed play of their own. Vegas only lists the Rams as a 3.5 point favorite…having watched all the previous matchups it sure feels like the Rams are more of a favorite then that…maybe the sharps “know” something that we don’t…let’s hope 🙏 so…but…based on the numbers…and the McVay vs KK match-up…I’d be more inclined to lay the points on the Rams and root for my Cards…this way I win either way…Cards lose…a little extra money in my pocket…Cards win…a little less money in my pocket…but a huge smile on my face as we end both of those frustrating streaks. 👍 Of course, my luck would be the Rams win but don’t cover…meaning a little less money in the pocket and more frustration as those streaks continue. 😡…maybe it’s best not to bet and to just watch this one instead…and, of course, hope for the best.

I expect the Cards and Murray to be fired up and aggressive on offense right away on offense. More Kyler ball. This is why he lifted all them weights. Got to survive this game. Stafford has been throwing a healthy amount of interceptions and Akers has fumbled. I think the defense will be opportunistic and look to punch that ball out.

This goofy 10-1 run makes my head and heart hurt. I can't figure out how THAT team manufactured 10 wins in 11 games. Okay, half those games occurred prior to KK arriving and the Cardinals truly sucked prior to KK's mastermindedness taking hold. My heart hurts because I just think it is ridiculous that the NFL's claim of 'balance' among teams is allowed to keep running year after year. We all know 'balance' is the truth, not the fact. Balance is all about $$$ sharing in the mind of the Commish. Like you, I am optimistic for the Cardinals this weekend but I'm also pragmatic about the way things usually turn out between the Cardinals and Rams the last 6 years.
