Close out Tuesday and bring on the Nuggets who I think we are a matchup nightmare for.
Clips fans are always crying about their players being hurt. Never seen a bigger bunch of invalids on one team.

I just hope the Suns close the Clippers out at home in game 5. The Suns have a history of letting their foot off the necks of opponents and allowing them back in the series. Most recently being the Mavericks last playoffs when the Suns were rolling up 2-0. But they have a chance to end this series quickly, especially without Leonard. I read last night he has "significant" swelling in that knee and that takes a long time to recover from that type of issue. I dont care if Clippers missing their star players, I will take it however the Suns can to help get them closer to the finals. The year the Lakers won the championship with Lebron they played teams missing key and star players and the Lakers main guys, Lebron and Davis, stayed healthy. So it happens, dont hear the media or fans saying much about that when it happened. And as I mentioned in a previous post, the Suns are having issues themselves. Durant is a franchise player, but still very new to this team and they are still working on the chemistry. The Suns also no longer have their 2 best role players, Bridges and Cam Johnson. So not only is their franchise player still learning to adjust and this team still learning to play with each other, they are also down their most important role players and the lack of depth. The main stars are playing heavy minutes to make up for the lack of depth. So both teams are fighting through adversary.

KD will gel quick I think, challenged by the playoffs. Hope the starting five can stay healthy because as you said, our bench depth is worrisome. Maybe they'll rise to the occasion ....

Yes Suns need to finish the Clippers in five games ... in the past, Jokic has talked about how tough it is to play against Ayton and Booker > Murray with Durant > A. Gordon. Is it too much to ask to see the 2021 playoff D. Ayton plus 10% better so he can come close to neutralizing "the joker?" P.S. Shamet should never play a minute in the playoffs for the Suns ... yesterday in about 4 minutes, he missed four shots and allowed his man to get to the bucket several times to score on him.

Shamet is horrible and has been horrible for the Suns. Cam Johnson I think is a free agent this off season, they need to see about getting him back. He is a sharp shooter off the bench. The good thing is, the Suns know what they need to complete this team, they just didnt have enough time to do this this season. But they have all the major pieces, just need the smaller pieces. Someone who can play bully ball down below and get rebounds, someone who can take more minutes away from CP3, I think Monk's name was mentioned as a guy to go get, and just filler depth players. But Ayton, I rather the Suns traded him for Durant and kept Bridges and Cam Johnson. Ayton can be a beast down below, he has a nice shot and he can be a force on the boards. The problem is, he is too "weak" and ends up being very inconsistent. With this team Ayton shoudl be averaging double doubles (And I believe he has I mean higher double doubles). They have to find a way to guard Booker, Durant, CP3 and are thin by the time they need to take on Ayton. So he should be having a field day, but he doesnt. One night he will get 20 points and 20 boards, the next night 8 points and 6 boards. When they made the run to the finals a couple of years ago Ayton was dominate. I would like a blue collar big man who can grab boards, Byombo is not the guy.

Well congrats to the Suns for taking care of business, eliminating the Clippers with the series going 4-1. Next up, the Denver Nuggets. To me, I have no clue who wins. Nuggets and Timberwolves were pretty evenly matched and the Suns are still struggling with having Durant gel with the team. Jokic and Murray are playing lights out too. But one thing seems interesting to hear, CP3 said that he is not used to having so many wide open shots. Everyone is concentrating on Durant and Booker, they just dont have anything left to cover CP3. So thats a good thing and Booker taking advantage with the one on one game due to the Durant double and even sometimes triple teams. Just hope they figure it out soon before its too late.

Booker post game last night also mentioned he opens things up for Durant at times also. As you mentioned the gel process has to happen for Suns to reach their potential. Clippers pushed the Suns, so that may have helped speed up the process. TBD. NBA is about one on one matchups. Suns responded to the punch in the face in game one vs the Clippers

“I hate to have him in the corner sometimes, but they will not leave him, and it opens up the rest of the court for everybody else,” Booker said of Durant. “Our team is just figuring out that just him standing out there makes everything easier for everybody.”
So yeah they are still figuring each other out. That is what people dont see, this team took care of business on pure talent alone. They are running around on the court still feeling each other out and how it all works and how defenses adjust. Cnt wait when they do figure it out, they will be unstoppable IMO. Im also happy they closed out the series last night, now we get to concentrate on the Cardinals draft tomorrow instead of game 6

The Suns Defense did not show up last night. A few bounces went the Suns' way, otherwise, there would be more Clips on TVs this week.

Devin Booker is going to be the greatest Sun ever after this postseason is over in many people's mind.
In mine he already is.
Ralley The Valley!

I’m concerned about the starters staying healthy and carrying such a big load. Adding a few depth pieces would help immensely. A long way to go, but so far, so good.

Oh yeah Suns will not get to the finals this year. Just not enough time to fix the chemistry and to fix the bench. But I am very excited for next year. They just need someone to take minutes from CP3 and build that bench and they should be favorites next year. IMHO I wish they could shop Ayton for some decent role players. I just dont think he does well for this team. Yes, he averages a double double, but for a big man he is very soft and very inconsistent and there is no excuse now that the teams are all concentrating on Booker, Durant and CP3. If they did the Durant trade all over again, I wish it would of been the original trade with Ayton and some pieces, but Suns keep Bridges.
BTW do you know Ayton is just like KM? He plays video games a lot, he will stay up over night to play games then play the next day on the court.

This will be my last post on this thread. The Suns, as I expected, will not survive this series. The Nuggets just have more depth. Durant and Booker would have to score 40 a piece just to have a chance because there is close to zero help from anyone else. I originally thought Nuggets in 5, but with CP3 done, again, I wouldnt be surprised if it was a sweep. In the off season the Suns HAVE to address depth. Durant was killing it with the Warriors, but it wasnt just Clay and Curry, they had really good role players too. So they need to not only fix the starting 5, they need a better PG and a better starting 4, but they need to rebuild their bench. They also should really look into trading Ayton. The guy is not for this team, they need a grinder down below who will fight for every rebound. They can pay someone far less to get double digit rebounds every night. The only time Ayton helps this team is when he scored 20/10, 20 or more points and 10 or more rebounds. But that does not happen often and he is VERY inconsistent. I dont know why media thinks this was a win all time after the Durant trade. The man has played now 15 games with the Suns since the trade? I mean what do they expect? The Suns traded their role players and their bench for Durant, played 8 games before the playoffs and the media says they need to win a title this year? Makes no sense. But anyway, Suns tried their best, time for the Sun to set, but it should rise next year if the new owner does what I think he will do, and go all out and fix this team. If so, they will be the favorites next year. And CP3 needs to come off the bench or minimum his starter minutes to like 20 minutes a game. Get a legit PG to replace him. If he doesnt retire, he is holding this team up at the PG spot as the main starter. Time to move on.

His best guard playing days are far behind him now. CP3 pockets a guaranteed $15M after that date. He's pulling in $30M annually, plus endorsements. It's hard to walk away from that kind of easy money at his age. CP3 has normal living expenses and a family to support, like we all do, you know.
