HNY!
I read an ESPN article this morning, December 26th, about the 5-win Falcons chances vs. the 4-win Cardinals next Sunday on Jan 1st. The bookies are already giving -3.5 points to the Falcons. No way this game is put on national TV.
Third stringer QB McSorley will get his second start for the Cardinals. QB Desmond Ridder will start for the Falcons. Ridder (6'3", 210 lbs) is a rookie and doing okay per his HC. Ridder played college football at the University of Cincinnati and was impressive at the DI level.
The game is another opportunity for Cardinals starters to earn incentives pay. The backups can showcase skills and gain experience heading into an abnormal Cardinals off-season.

We don’t want to win this game folks. We don’t want Atlanta and a few other 5 win teams to jump ahead of us in the draft. We need draft currency right now, for players and possibly to pry Payton loose from the Saints.

Im going to uses these next few weeks to just enjoy JJ Watt playing his last few games, and remembering that great lesson learned by each each Cardinals fan, all the way back to the Chicago years. The NFL (and life) is hard, and there are no guarantees. It’s filled with unexpected turns, obstacles, and mistakes. Yet it’s also filled with bright spots, great memories, good people, and hope.

QB David Blough was named on Friday, December 30, 2022 as the Cardinals starter for the football game at the Atlanta Falcons on January 1, 2023. History of Blough in the NFL since 2019:
In 2019 Blough was traded to the Detroit Lions. The exchange also saw the teams swap conditional seventh-round draft picks. No more info is available on this trade.
In week 13, on November 27, 2019, following injuries to QB Matthew Stafford and backup QB Jeff Driskel, David Blough was named the starting QB for the Lions for their game on Thanksgiving Day against the Chicago Bears. Blough finished the game with 22 completed passes on 38 attempts for 280 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception but the Lions lost 24–20. During the game he threw for his first NFL completion on a 75-yard touchdown pass to Lions WR Kenny Golladay.
In Week 14 at the Minnesota Vikings, Blough threw for 205 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions and was sacked 5 times in a 20–7 Lions loss.
In Week 15 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Blough threw for 260 yards and 2 interceptions, 1 returned for a touchdown, in a 38–17 Lions loss.
In Week 16 against the Denver Broncos Blough, threw for 117 yards and 1 touchdown in a 27–17 Lions loss.
In Week 17 against the Green Bay Packers, Blough threw for 122 yards and 1 interception and caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from WR Danny Amendola during the 23–20 loss.
Blough finished the 2019 NFL season going 0-5, and 94-of-174 throwing for 984 yards with 4 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
Prior to the start of the season on September 5, 2020, Blough was waived by the Lions. He was signed to the practice squad the next day. He was promoted to the active roster on October 17, 2020.
There is no record of team activity for Blough in 2021.
On August 31, 2022, after making the initial 53-man roster, the Lions released Blough to make room for Nate Sudfeld.
Blough signed with the Cardinals in late 2022.
