In a massive recruiting win for Arizona State, elite quarterback prospect Jayden Daniels committed to the Sun Devils on Thursday afternoon.
A senior at Cajon High School in San Bernadino, California, Daniels is a four-star prospect and the top-ranked dual-threat quarterback recruit in the country, as evaluated by 247Sports. According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rankings, Daniels is the second-best dual-threat quarterback prospect in the 2019 class. Prior to pledging to ASU, the athletic 6-foot-3, 175-pound passer was the highest-rated uncommitted quarterback prospect in the country.
"It feels real good," Daniels told 247Sports after announcing his decision at a press conference at his high school. "The whole program, what they are on the rise of doing, they're a young team. We can all go in there, develop together, grow together and be something special."
Daniels immediately became the highest-ranked commit in ASU’s 2019 class and, as the No. 82 overall prospect nationally, the first Sun Devil pledge this year to be ranked in the top 100 in the country. Expected to sign when the early signing period opens next Wednesday, he’ll be the highest-rated recruit to join the program since receiver N’Keal Harry (No. 53) came to the school in 2016, and the highest-rated ASU quarterback since Brady White (No. 68) inked with the Sun Devils in 2015.

But with coach Herm Edwards, offensive coordinator Rob Likens, and linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator Antonio Pierce leading the Sun Devils’ push, ASU quickly gained traction with Daniels over the past few months. Last week, he listed the school among his top four and committed Thursday to the Sun Devils over Cal, Utah and UCLA.
