Living near Tampa here in Florida, I remember Vincent Jackson playing the Buccaneers and also the Chargers. I brought this to the forum because of the cte issues. The problems they may cause in later life. I always think back to Mike Webster All PRO great with the Steelers. He died homeless alone at age 50. I say to myself How & why does this happen? Read what his doctor said in the link i provided. We forum members may not be NFL Stars but at least we have our minds. I feel blessed this Christmas when i see the misfortune of players who make the NFL fun for me. All the money and fame is not worth literally losing your mind over. Here is the link to the story Vincent Jackson www.foxnews.com/sports/vincent-jackson-former-nfl-stars-cause-of-death-revealedMike Webster: His story is heartbreaking www.nytimes.com/2002/09/25/sports/mike-webster-50-dies-troubled-football-hall-of-famer.html

www.dailynews.com/2021/12/22/autopsy-former-chargers-receiver-vincent-jackson-died-from-chronic-alcohol-use/The Jackson autopsy revealed cause of death was chronic alcohol use (e.g., severe abuse in Jackson's case). Alcoholism is a condition that develops when a person consumes LARGE quantities of alcohol, resulting in several chemical changes in the brain. Symptoms include uncontrollable craving to consume alcohol, requiring more alcohol for the same effects as before. Treatment involves counseling by a healthcare professional, an in-patient detoxification program in a hospital or medical facility, and additional assistance as required to entirely stop alcohol use. Access to alcohol is a contributing factor for abusers. Abuser's enablers may include family members and social networks.

There is a lot more to this man's life story, probably going all the way back to his childhood environment. Millions of alcoholics suffer their paths to self- and family-destruction.
