Keim has always done well in free agency, but his drafts have been mediocre. Until he can demonstrate a proven record of drafting well, you can't really call him a good GM. Yes, we are having a great season, but he is also the same guy who led to us having the worst record in the league three years ago. At the end of the day, I'm going to judge him by the results. I will wait until the end of the season to pass final judgement. Even with this season, I think he could have done more like acquire another player at the trade deadline like a defensive lineman or offensive lineman to add depth. Sorry dude...your rants hold no water anymore Do-10....steve +10

Sorry dude...your rants hold no water anymore Do-10....steve +10 You've been waiting 5 years to say that. Regardless, read this below. I actually had a beer with him and spoke with him for about 15 minutes. Was fun LOL Talk about irony
Interestingly, I had a chance to meet Steve Keim and speak with him for a good 15 minutes. (True Story LOL) This was before the start of the season. I asked him about the inside running game and what was he going to fix that. He said James Connor will change that. He said we've never had a big back that could run inside and break tackles and gain short yardage. And he said his most prized signing or move was convincing Matt Prater to move here. He said Prater's wife was an ex-Cardinals cheerleader and wanted to return to the Valley and that helped him choose to come to Arizona. He tells me in "you wanna recruit players here, you gotta get in good with the wife and really speak to them because they are as big of a decision maker if not the bigger decision maker. True! With regard to the Rodney Hudson trade, I asked him about that and actually complimented him on that move. He said two other teams were also trying to trade for him but he has a good relationship with Mike Mayock and that's what led to the Raiders trading Hudson to us vs another team. Steve says some other team made the same offer we made, Steve tells Mike "ill match that now, let's make this work" and Mike says "Deal"
Steve Keim in real life is kind of a cool guy. He is a regular guy who talks likes your buddy you hang out with. When he was talking about the trades and signings, he was telling me all the funny behind the scenes stuff and gossip that goes into making these deals. Nothing unusual but it's the same stuff that all of us deal with in our lives (knowing people, forming good relationships, calling on those people when you need their help). He was not his normal stonewall flat robot non-informative cliche self that you hear on radio interviews. The other funny thing is I was actually bigger than Steve Keim. On TV, he looks like the Kingpin from Daredevil. He looks like this huge fat guy. In real life, he is bald but he is not that big or rotund or large. Sure he is not trim but he is not this obese or even really this overweight guy. He also wore Dior shoes. He is for sure cocky and talks a lot like a really successful sales guy. We all have friends like that but overall a cool guy. Was surprised at how normal he was. Don't always agree with his decisions but I enjoyed speaking with him.

I'm with vwvectors on this more like a fat hog stumbling on some acorns more than elite. Only thing that screams elite is his value per meal at Golden Corral or elite gravy eating skills. Half of Keim's mistakes might be attributable to the coach than himself. Do we really think Keim wanted to draft 3 WR's in one year? Keim has always received far to much blame

Do you think you are somehow unique? My opinion is based on results. Until you prove otherwise, I am going to hold a certain opinion. We had missed the playoffs the past 5 years. We finished with the worst record in the league three years ago. Keim drafted two QB's in the top 10 in back to back drafts. Keim has not hit on a first round draft pick aside from Kyler and that too when he was the defacto 1st overall pick. His drafts haven't been great. Sorry if I didn't give Steve Keim a ringing endorsement like you.
Do you want me to be like you and offer the typical rubber stamp pithy one or two sentence response that offers no unique quality whatsoever such as: "Connor is a beast" "Yeah, I can't want to see what he does next week" or "They got lucky that AJ Green missed that catch" or "Off to the Niners next week" Sorry if I want to offer something beyond that even if it means being critical and calling out what we did poorly. I can't join your frat bros man, sorry.

Do, thanks for the insider stories about Keim and yourself. It's going to take the Cardinals winning the NFL Championship before I throw myself at Keim's feet. Meanwhile, I'd like to buy that man a beer and just chat about guy stuff. I'm sure he's a bit of a wind bag but also smart as heck about the football business. To me, he looks like the Penguin.
