Let's face it, this team isn't the 2007 Patriots. SHOCKER, I know! But this team was never going to be undefeated. The goal always has been and always will be the Super Bowl.
I bring this up because a very interesting question was asked of Kliff and Kyler in their separate post-game press interactions. The question was (paraphrasing), "Was going undefeated on your minds?"
Kliff's answer was basically a simple, "No." However, Kyler's response was a lot more insightful. He had to think about it for a brief moment and then admitted that the thought of being undefeated does cross your mind. This tells me the team was letting themselves get overwhelmed by the thought of maybe being perfect even though they kept saying "1-0".
Back to the 2007 Patriots comparison. That coach, QB, and team had been there, done that when it came to the Super Bowl at that point. They had the maturity and knowhow on staying focused week to week and always finding a way to win.
Most importantly however, that team did NOT win the Super Bowl that year, albeit because of some fluke plays. Even for them, the pressure was perhaps a little too high and they ended up going 18-1. Belichick and TB would be the first to tell you that the 2007 season was a failure, despite going 16-0.
Now the Cardinals are 7-1. They have no pressure to go "undefeated." Just win every game you can, hunt for that #1 seed, and get hot during the playoffs. No more added weight on being perfect, just win enough in the regular season.

We were always going to have 'a dip' at some point of the season and record some loses. One loss from eight is a tremendous start and (perhaps) another three before the regular season end, giving a 13-4, record would be a realistic outcome and still a major achievement.
The main issue of concern is the rolling and mounting injuries. I know people say 'its part of the game', but we are losing some top players. What we don't yet know is how serious some of these are, hence the long term impact. - Personally, I would be minded to 'rest' players who carrying significant knocks (and worse) going forward.
Come the business end of the season we need the majority of the roster firing and at high performance levels. When the knock-out football starts then the win/ loss total for the regular season will be irrelevant and long forgotten.
Maybe, as In the Cards sets out, losing this one could ultimately be a blessing in disguise...

They still almost won the game had it not been for AJ Green's bone head move.

I believed this team had a considerable shot at going undefeated and was hoping and believing it to be the case. Bad taste in our mouths indeed but we're still a Solid team.
