How refreshing to get a professional crew like Greg Gumbel and Adam Archuleta. This is what a prime team gets. Gumbel has always been top rate and I was very impressed with Adam. Would you have known listening to the broadcast that Adam ever played in the NFL ? (he was a hard hitting DB for the Bears). No you wouldnt. Unlike the Johnson/Talib pair their is not constant ass kissing deference to the playing days of the sidekick. Maybe it's just me but I appreciate who calls the games.
One stat that really stood out for me was Kyler and his completion percentage of passes over 20 yards. He's 60 plus % is way better than second place Josh Allen who is in 40's. That's a WOW number.
Zach Ertz is so much more athletic than Maxx Williams, you can see it from the first catch to his long TD. It will be interesting moving forward how Kyler uses the new toy in his box. My feeling is he's going to be a star here.
I dont have the official stat on it but I'm betting we are leading the league in 4th down conversions and stopping teams on 4th down. Today's football goes for it on 4th down more than ever.
I thought both DHop and Watts would have monster games yesterday. Solid but not the type of "you shouldn't have traded/released me" type performances you often see against former teams. I'm guessing they didn't feel the need.
If the Texans thought David Johnson would suddenly become alive against his former team they were sadly mistaken. He seemed to get a lot of touches but no explosiveness at all. Looks like a lifeless corpse out there.
Jordan Phillips (Robert Nkemdiche 2.0)had one tackle against the Texans. I didn't even know he played. Michael Dogbe? He looks pretty good.
Edmonds is the best change of pace RB in the NFL. He is also the luckiest to play in a system that's spread out and full of passing weapons. Credit to him though for taking full advantage of it. Remember with him less is more.
Anyone else concerned with the vicious hits Kyler took last night? They said he slides better than anyone, but his scrambles where he spins and turns his back to the defense sets him up for those licks.
The Oline really struggled coming out of the gate. Josh Jones is struggling right now. The snaps need more attention. Clean that up before playoff time. It could cost us a game.
Byron Murphy with a taunting penalty after a big third down stop. I couldn't help but think "you punk". Act professional and control your emotions.
Buddha Baker is not running around like a maniac as he's done the past few years. But when do you see him get beat? He's a leader out there and plays solid consistent football. I'd take him over Honey Badger and his drama anyday.
When is the Peanut Butter Falcone going to open it up?
Once a game Isaiah Simmons explodes into a defender and it's a site to see. He's got superstar potential.
Does the Cardinals offense remind you at least a little like the Greatest Show on Turf St. Louis Rams with Kurt Warner?
This is the first Cardinals team in a long time where some element of the Special Teams is not killing us.
I was wondering last night if Larry Fitzgerald doesn't bemoan the fact he never came back one more time. (I'm glad he didn't)
Thursday Night Football vs. The Packers. It's been probably since 2016 when we opened against the Patriots that we have had such a big game. This doesn't happen often, be excited for these opportunities.

I agree with all of this, but especially Kyler taking hits. I have a big problem with the play calling in the first half.
Too pass heavy with tons of pressure on the QB.
A win is a win, unless it ends your season. Good grief, run the football.

Kyler should not have run the ball once in this game, and should have been sat after the last TD put us ahead 31-5. All this is for nothing if Kyler gets hurt.
We won’t be The Greatest Show on Turf with three 1000 yard receivers. We could be something greater, with 5 800 yard receivers, plus 2 800 yard rushers. DHop, Green, Kirk and Moore are all on pace for 800+, and if you combine Williams with replacement Ertz, which I think is fair, they could hit 800 as well. Has any team ever had such a balanced receiving attack? Then mix in Conner’s thunder, Edmunds lightning, and Kyler’s tornado running game? I’m loving it.
It’s crazy there is zero room for Isabella or even a return of Fitz.
I have a slight concern about the Oline, interior Dline and CB depth. Every teams has holes, but we don’t have many. My wish list guy Sheldon Richardson is probably too out of shape after a half season on the couch, and a Fletcher Cox pickup probably too expensive. I’m hoping Phillips improves as the season wears on. I would call the Eagles about Nelson as a solid “all in” addition at CB with a tiny cap hit. Oline…have to depend on Kugler and a return of Hudson.

Great post aris as always. On any other year in the NFL Bryon Murphy wouldn't have been called for taunting however this year they said they were going to strictly enforce taunting and broaden the scope of it. Come on this is professional tackle football not flag football. I like how many offensive weapons we are spreading out a total of 8 offensive weapons that can beat you at any given moment. Kyler for some reason they were keying on him yesterday figuring if they knocked him out of the game they had a chance to win it. I never seen a team swarm Kyler that much as the Texans did. Normally he is able to squirm out of the pocket and make something happen but yesterday he wasn't when the pocket broke down there was someone on his blindside making a play.

Aris, I'm going to dig into all of your points a bit more
Using Stats from NFL.COM
1. Your point on 20 yds or more % age wise Kyler Murray has 9.0 yards/ per attempt He is tied with Matthew Stafford and both of them trail Joe Burrow by only .2 yards per attempt.
Here is a stat that really sticks out in a strange way. Loss of yards due to sacks. Notice most QBs on the list are young The others like Goff and Tannehill have bad offensive lines. There is one more thing though and that is QBs like Kyler and often Aaron Rodgers are trying to extend plays and get sacked doing so. Kyler Murray 143 yds Joe Burrow 124 yds Zach Wilson 126 yds Jarred Goff 127 yds Ryan Tannehill 159 yds Justin Fields 163 yds
Then there is Aaron Rodgers at 126 yds
2. Zach Ertz No doubt He is more athletic than Maxx Williams I'm not going to pick on Williams when he is down. He blocks well
3. 4th down conversions I was watching game pass and the Rams vs Lions Both teams had critical turnover on downs late in the game, The Lions threw away a very short field goal for a long 4th 6.
4. Michael Dogbe I think Jordan Phillips poor play is the reason they kept Dogbe around he was a late round pick.
Dogbe 9 tackles 2 assists 1 sack $850,000 Phillips 3 tackles 2 assists 0 sacks $6,794,222
Great post you have there just some extra thoughts here

Josh Jones gets beat a lot. J Jones is barely out of rookie diapers (24). We know he was born in Houston, so maybe he had crib flashbacks yesterday. He definitely needs more snaps, training and experience to be considered a fulltime RG.

I've always loved Cox, outside of Donald maybe the most consistent dominant DL in the game. I think we have enough there though, we need Allen back , he was trending nicely and we need Phillips to get off his lazy ass.

Josh Jones gets beat a lot. I'd like to see his analytics. Struggles are not unusual for a new guy but man he looks like a guy who has the body to be great. An athletic beast of a man.

Kugler needs to get Garcia and Jones ready or it's going to be a long day for Kyler.

With regards to the greatest show on turf though, naa. They are missing the biggest element that team had, an all around super star RB like the Rams had in Marshall Faulk. But receiving core wise, this could be the best this franchise has ever seen. Even better then what Warner had with Boldin, Fitz and Breaston.

Marshall Faulk was awesome, but he had just two legs and two arms. Edmonds-Connors has four legs and four arms. I think the latter are far more dangerous and their results are cooking in the kitchen now. Super Bowl here we come.
