From a coaching perspective, what will Ertz's role on the cardinals be? Will he essentially assume Williams's role (mostly blocking but the occasional scripted pass play) ? Or will his presence alter the offense in a significant way?

I expect TE Ertz to be used in a manner very similar to how TE Williams was used. I think Ertz receiving abilities are nearly identical to Williams. Ertz is a better runner though. He also has the All-Pro reputation to go along with the great athletic skills.
No change to the TE role in supporting QB Murray. Ertz will see 5-7 targets per game. Probably see him in the Red Zone for 3 downs. I am very excited to see how Ertz performs with this already potent Cardinals offense.

K2 loves to go over film. Some of the plays that we run with Rondale are from his Purdue days. I'm pretty sure that he's studying up on the Eagles, and is trying to find out how he can make Ertz successful. It won't mean a compete change on our part, just an assimilation.

One thing we know about KK and he admits it- he loves to steal plays from other teams. He probably knows Eagles play book better then they do!

Williams may be the better blocker of the two and gains more yards after catch. Zach is considered a better route runner with better hands. He’s more like a WR than Maxx. I expect that to show, with Zach blocking a bit less than Maxx and running routes a bit more. And Ertz is a fantastic red zone threat, where Maxx is more a middle of the field emergency outlet who can catch and then lumber forward for extra yards. Maxx isn’t as good in tight windows and red zones.
My hope is that Ertz fits right in on this team as an additional offensive weapon TE who can also block, and we extend him to a 3 year contract. At the same time, the injury to Maxx allows us to re-sign him reasonably as a blocking TE who can also catch. They are both almost exactly the same height and weight, both drafted in the second round, and both good at what they do. Would be a great complimentary pair of TEs.

Seeing stuff like this is a very good sign about the culture of the team. If you want to go big picture, this is also a good sign that Kyler is loving life as a Cardinal and a football player. I guess winning will do that to you, but Kyler has earned his stripes so far for enduring the previous two seasons of losing.

That says all we need to know. This team is tight. Between Ertz flying on the team plane to Cleveland and Rodney Hudson flying on the plane to Cleveland to help the O-Line there are no selfish me players on this team.

It's going to take more than a game to unleash Ertz but he's much more potent than Maxx was catching the ball. Max is a plough horse and Zach a thorough bred. In this spread out offense with multiple weapons Ertz should have a field day. I have very high expectations.

With all the WRs we have he could easily lead our team in catches and TD, if he had a full season here. AJ Green and Rondale benefit the most from his arrival because Ertz may be the second most focused threat after DHOP. And if nothing else, he will cause guys to be 1 more step behind Rondale because he gets more separation than Maxx. I am curious if our run game will suffer

The clear beneficiary is K1. Keim is surrounding his young QB with the appropriate nucleus.

The guy I think will suffer will perhaps be Christian Kirk.
