It's a good one to have though.
More and more talking heads are referring to VJ as a possible candidate for a head coaching job. Personally, I don't want to see him go. Some of our young players are growing/thriving within his system, and I would hate to see them falter under a new DC.
One of my VJ criticisms was that he loves his vets, maybe too much. Specifically, I wanted to see Simmons get more snaps last year. However, looks like it worked out so far this year in that he is still utilizing Hicks, who has had some big games this young season. He basically took all that Collins will start drama, and threw it the window. You got to earn your snaps while you're learning as a rookie, as opposed of being simply anointed by the GM. Maybe Collins should get more snaps, but I'm glad that Hicks was given a shot to play too.

Someone on the staff will get a promotion to another team.
It might be Vance Joseph

Always been a VJ fan and have continued to support him through thick and thin.
I have voted he stays. Something special is happening in the desert and why wouldn't he wish to be part of it? - Key is he is given autonomy on the Defense, hence he must feel he 'owns it'.
The grass is not always greener and a 'promotion' to HC on a struggling team could bring him a whole lot of heartache and grief. - My advice to Vance is stick with what you know/ do best and enjoy the ride.

After many years of tests and errors, I now firmly know my limits. But, I still enjoy a jump off the 10-meter high-dive platform once in a while - just for the thrill of it all. I think like all successful people, Vance Joseph also knows his limits. He's a good people person, that we know now. Another HC gig might or might not be in the cards for him. Or, maybe the timing and team just wasn't a good fit at Denver Broncos. If he gets another HC shot, I hope he succeeds at it (as long as it's not an NFC West Division rival). If the Cardinals go all the way in the playoffs, I hope Joseph stays at ARI of course. He will be even more effective in 2022.

I've supported him as well. I was living in Denver when he was there, and I think he deserves another chance. I think our record is more a function of Keim bringing in so much talent, Murray and Vance than I do KK. If we falter this year, I'd actually be fine letting Vance take over for a year since he's got the connection with the players. That being said, while I think Vance is better than KK, I still don't think Vance will ever be a top coach.

I guess it can be veiwed as a good thing when other organizations work to take personnel from you. VJ has been a head coach before so he knows the type of job it is and how importantn it is having a FO that works with you in all aspects of team management and play. I don't know if VJ has the intangibles that make one coach more successful than then next and that is only a question that VJ himself can answer.

It really helps that he already got a shot as a head coach and it did not work out for him. Maybe he will just want to stay and be happy as an awesome DC now? Think of the legacy he could build as one of the greatest DC as opposed to a HC who failed twice.

I don’t think VJ will get another head coach gig. He is very similar to Todd Bowles. Both are great DC but horrible HC. I do think that he will get opportunities to only fulfill the Rooney rule.

The logic is generally pretty simple across sports. Any team that surprises expectations and makes a deep playoff run will see their assistance coaches be interviewed for head coaching positions. We saw this in 2008 with Todd Haley, we saw this with the Suns this past year. Vance has head coaching experience, the d has been playing very well, and we're winning. No doubt he'll want another shot as well.
Dont write off our Oline coach as well.

I doubt Vance gets another shot as HC, as his HC resume is awful. I was not a fan of VJ after a very poor performance as HC in Denver and a resume that only had bright spots as a CB coach. His DC resume wasn’t even good.
But I do like what I see when I hear him speak, the players seem to be respecting him, and I’m now admitting that once he had Keim get him his own players, the results have been awesome. He still has work to do to prove he is a long term “great DC”, but it’s possible. I don’t see the HC thing, but maybe someone gives him another shot. He’d need a heck of an OC though.

The one coaching see being plucked as an OC is Whipple. Heck if I was K2 I would call him our OC before he is plucked.

Absolutely, Whipple is on the rise and it will be difficult to keep him for than a year or two no matter what we do.

Yes. VJ deserves another shot and if it comes after this season, it means the Cards defense remains dominant. We can only hope.

Here's the real question. On a game with several starters out, including our coach, did we not play with more fire in our bellies than normal? Why is that? If KK was a huge difference maker you'd have expected a huge drop off with him out. We didn't see that. So even if some want to discount Vance, and give Whipple the credit, that still highlights KK may not be that big a part of our success

It's about the guys all performing as a team." I do think HC Kingsbury is a key part of the Cardinals success in 2021. But of course he is not the only key part. His coaching staff deserves lots of credit as well. GM Keim also is a key part and has to be given a huge round of applause for the work he's done finding and signing new guys for years 2019-2021. I look forward to 2022 and more GM and HC magic.
