This thread is an opportunity for you (as a fan) to suggest things you would like to see AZ prepare for from upcoming opponents or make adjustments based on how competition is playing against the Cardinals.

OK, I'll play.
mtdiesel great idea for a thread
Lets go back to the Titan's game
Its very early 3rd Quarter Cardinals are up 24-6
The play before Kelvin Beachum goes off the field with his rib injury.
Its 3RD down and 3 yards to go for a 1st down. Cardinals have the ball on their own 23 yard line.
Kyler goes back to pass has plenty of time Then after sometime pressure comes his way. He throws off his back foot and gets picked.
Kyler had an open lane to run and slide for the 3 yards. He forced the ball instead.
He also could have slid to the right where he had more room to run or pass, He would have had to make that decision earlier,
Kyler waited too long on the play
1ST Got to work on Not throwing off his back foot
2nd. 3 yards to go 1st down Field awareness That pass wasn't there. So the result was a pick
3rd Not throw into coverage especially when it is unknown and a low percentage throw.
Just a few thoughts
Kyler is great I love his play I know he can do even better

One o the observations I have noticed was the opposing defenses and their rush of K1 to contain him from rushing but also getting pressure in middle of pocket.
Last year playing Niners in second game they punched AZ in the mouth from a physical point and also slowed their edge rush and protected the edge. Then Rams and Hawks followed and it has been having success and I saw this with the Titan game. The fifty yard scramble with throw to Moore was how Titans adjusted to frustrate K1. K1 found Moore and it turned out positive. I think AZ needs to dial up a few plays and or blocking schemes to exploit this defensive adjustment. The Niners are loaded with athletic DEs, Rams have Floyd and Hawks have Dunlap. Lanky fast DEs hard to throw around and when they rush in a controlled fashion it is hard for K1 to break outside of them and also hard to run inside of them. Narrows throwing lanes and shuts down open runs.
Personally I think O-line and their blocking is the best adjustment to move the edge rusher off course or off their desired spot.
Another area offense can exploit this is the short or medium crossing route like Moore ran.

The spirit of this is to improve or at least see if Cardinals adjust obvious issues. I like to look at what others observe gives me more to pay attention to while watching games.

Edge rushers against us have gotten very good at not allowing the tackles to move them past the pocket and turn them to face the line of scrimmage. Instead, they stay engaged with out getting more than 5 to 7 yards deep and facing into the pocket so when KM spins out of the pocket they are perfectly positioned to turn away from the blocker and chase after him and leave our blockers chasing after them. They need to get better at moving them past the play so when KM escapes, he can run underneath them instead of having to run around them. Scary that he has to run 5-10 yards backwards every play to get away from the rush.

To your point Boomer, I would like to see Kyler slide in the pocket more often early in the play instead of later on. I hope Hudson helps with this problem to shore up the middle. Humphries will continue to get better in pass protection. Beachum was getting beat all day on his side, Conner could stay back and block Edmonds is also a decent blocker. All Kyler needs is just a chip on the DE to allude his rush, This was one reason I wanted Gardner Minshew on the team. He is excellent at sliding in the pocket' He was great at it in college. When Jacksonville drafted him he was chased around all year. So, he learned more on the fly and played great. Kyler could learn from this even from a young guy like Minshew.

Scary that he has to run 5-10 yards backwards every play to get away from the rush. That is what I have observed, there needs to be some simple adjustments to moving the pocket to help K1 know he can work to a spot while focusing downfield for a throw or give him a chance while not being under duress to see a running lane open.

Not just running lanes but passing lanes as well. Notice how far apart the OL is spread out when he is in the shotgun to help improve those lanes yet we consistently let the pass rush contain the pocket while compressing it and taking those lanes away.

We are too predictable. Lets mix it up a little. Move Nuk around, take advantage of a sub-optimal matchup, and make it a little harder for the defense to beat us. I'm kinda nervous that K2 is going to try to make his scheme work vs adapting. Things look great at the beginning of all of his seasons, not so much at the end.
Nate Tice, and the other guys at the Athletic, have an interesting criticism of our offense (mostly focused on last year). Basically, if you try to think about our offense, its hard for generalists to outline our defining characteristic. What are we good at? Why does it seem as if everything is so difficult to do? Nothing comes easy in our offensive scheme. Sure, it can sing at times; but at others, it seems like we're fighting against ourselves.
Everyone loves Kugler in this forum. Sure, his run game is pretty awesome. However, it is his unit that is the most penalized on our team. Maybe its on purpose so our QB doesn't get murdered (Baby Yoda like CJ called him), or maybe its just bad discipline.

I would have Moore on PP7 side. The one thing that PP can’t do for sure is cover speed. He would have to give Rondale lots of room and that would be bad for them.

Some interesting discussion on edge rushers holding the end of the line to prevent KM1 from escaping out of pocket. My comments are as follows: - This defensive "technique" against Kyler is why Cards need taller receivers to run the slants and "dig" (down and in) routes -- ti appears DC knows that do to his height seeing smaller receivers run these routes or shallow "crosses" like many teams is a bit of an issue for KM1.
- See item #1 which is why Kyler will "back up" in the pocket to get better sight lines to see his receivers.
- Planned rollout to the right with the OL in unison immediately moving the pocket to the right to provide some throwing lanes.
- Planned rollout to then execute one of my favorite plays - throwback screen to TE or to Moore/Kirk/Isabella to be in space vs. LB's/Safeties.
- From the right of the formation have a TE in motion crash their Left DE inside before releasing out in the pattern for a short 6-7 yd gain or better yet -- TE stays double-teaming the DE allowing KM1 to roll out right bringing up safeties to guard against run and then go deep to Moore.
- Make the edge rushers come up field-- jet sweeps to Moore
Interested in other ideas -- still think the Cards need to use large bodies in the middle of the field (i.e. TE's and AJ Green over the middle of the field or in between/ near the hashes.

The major adjustment I want to see this week is the Cardinals putting Vikings away in first quarter. The defense has to be the driving force. Defense wins championships. No longer should winning depend on the offense.
Although I want the defense to take over, the pressure taken off the offense’s shoulder should help them to play more free and more effective. 21+ to zero in first quarter. A defensive score or turnover for easy score and a couple offensive TDs.
Establish the run and take the top off the defense when they move up for the run.
A weak C and LT out = five to six rushers. Allen needs a sack, Watt two sacks and three more for CJ. CJ has averaged a strip sack every third sack over his career and he is on pace to increase that average this year.

All great posts above. Clean up the damn penalties especially at the start of the game. I believe this D-Line, if healthy all season, might be a championship caliber unit. Get after Cousins early and often. Vikes seem like a watered down NFC version of the Titans.
No reason not to be 2-0 come Sunday night.

One adjustment I was going to suggest is less snaps for Kennard, but fortunately he is out with injury this game. Time for Fitts to get more snaps along with Victor to get his baptism. One additional thing I would like to see is Collins snap count increase this week, even at OLB.

One roster adjustment I would like to see is Dante Olson ILB 6’3” and 240LBs. He has been on and off Eagles roster since 2019, he is worthy to be on their active roster but since he isn’t one of the GM’s guys they keep pushing others ahead of him. He is a soft spoken player off the field, but a beast and tackling machine on the field with good coverage skills. He is a natural ILB and has size to play outside also.
With players like Kennard and Phillips they get decent contracts and do nothing…it’s time to cut the losses and get some motivated players to replace them. Even healthy Kennard has no explosion and very low production.
Dante has some Gardeck in his play…lots of heart and skill to boot.
