Keim had his chances but chose to go in another direction despite knowing that cb is one of the toughest positions to find on a high level. Had Newsome and Farley staring him in the face and decided to be the smartest guy in the room and reached. He could have probably traded down and got a cb and a pass rusher. I think it was reported that no one wanted a trade down, or at least that was the chatter on draft day. However, after watching the war room footage, I think Keim selected the guy that he wanted after all. Given how run centric the NFC West is, especially after the shellacking the 9ers gave us later in last season...I suppose he picked the guy that would help win in this division?

I'll give you that. The draft is a chance deal. Many needs, but you take who want, what your gut says to do. Collins actually looks like the real deal. Hindsight man

The only report was a Saints deal that fell through when NE selected Mac Jones. We could of potentially ended up with CB Campbell (who we were linked to) and a future first rounder if that deal went thru. Didnt happen and we didnt reach for one of the tier 2 corners.

Keep in mind here that Belichick benched Butler for Super Bowl 52 for poor effort in practice the week prior and for violating curfew the week before the SB.
He only played 23 snaps in the two pre-season games? He then deletes all social media accounts related to the organization? I'll speculate here and say Butler was disgruntled. I think he was moved down on the depth chart in favor of Wilson to be the other starter. The rookie had a tremendous camp; some say the best in the CB room.
I hope nothing is seriously wrong with Butler or any of his family members. If it's reported otherwise, I apologize, here, in advance for posting negatively toward MB.

Blame Kiem for drafting Murphy, drafting Wilson, bringing Alford back to redeem himself and signing Hamilton.
The Troll that started this thread has been awfully quiet the last few weeks.

The loss of Butler was tragic. At the same time, had Keim drafted a corner with our first selection in the first round we wouldn't be in this mess. Most draft pundits placed our number one need at corner, and this was before Patrick Peterson signed with the Vikings. Most mock drafts in the fall of 2020 had Patrick Surtain, Jaycee Horn, Caleb Farley and Greg Newsome going in the first round. I raise this point to illustrate that these four corners were not drafted in the first round out of hype or recency bias. After Surtain, Newsome was considered the best cover corner in the draft with his size (6'1) and speed (4.3). Instead, we drafted a linebacker from a small school, who was a reach at his Bad Nameition.
My opinion has always been that we should have retained Patrick Peterson. Yes, he had a down year but I think a lot of his poor play was due to apathy and the lack of a pass rush. The apathy stems from the consistent losing and the culture that breeds . And without a pass rush, corners are asked to cover receivers longer so even respectable corners get exBad Nameed in these situations. Do not be surprised to see Peterson play well for the Vikings. I was saying last spring that we will all miss Patrick Peterson. I think most already do. This is further proof that Keim has hurt the organization. If we had a more orthodox general manager, the Cardinals would not be in this mess.
Yup, the guy who brought us an All-Pro center, Rondale Moore, Green at a discount, etc, etc, really hurt us. Our 4-0 record is hurting me so bad right now, I may just half to order some more booze and take a soak in the tub tonight, until I recover from this tragic, 'complete game' I just watched. I never realized I was such a Masochist. I may ask Keim to hurt me some more with some of these decisions

He is called Marco Wilson. Played as well as any rookie cb in this draft class.

Many still think he is overpaid lol.

He shocked the hell out of the Rams. Priceless seeing McVay’s face after that long strike.

Lol There are a few guys on this board who live in bizarro world. Do everything they say not to do, don’t do anything they say to do, and you’ll be fine. The opinion on Patrick Peterson after PED’s and decline in play is a prime indicator of bizarro world thinking.

Where you been DO? I remember being in a spot when you were calling me a Steve lover...while at the same time others were calling me a hater..lol
I suppose both sides were right Because I change my opinions as the season progress Sometimes the windshield..sometimes the bug
But you should come around and just admit Steve has done some awesome scat with trades this year..Awesome And I'll admit that I was off the mark with Green and JJ....Steve hit a home run with them so far And then there is ZACH...geez It could all fall apart Thursday..who knows But give credit where it's do
We are 7 and 0...for the 1st time in my Cardinals Fandom....I got nothing to criticize..nothing

Rim,
Your post count is stuck at 5,999. It's okay to roll over to the 6,000 club. Ask FLCF and me about tiers and bennies. We're high fliers and living the dream.
