Leftwich would not be my choice for our O.C. Here are my reasons 1. He was hired as an intern in 2016 as an assitant QB coach this is just over 2 years ago. 2. Leftwich was promoted to QB coach in January 2017 just over 1 year ago 3. This is the guy who is going to teach our QBOF WHAT? 4. Example Mitch Trubisky QB of the Chicago Bears QB coach Dave Ragone experience A. Hartford Colonials QB coach 2010 ho hum B. Tennessee Titans QB coach 2013 C. Chicago Bears QB coach 2016 - Current QB coach 5. Example Josh Allen QB BUFFALO BILLS QB coach Dave Culley A. Mid Tennessee ST. QB coach 1982 B. S.W. Lousiana QB coach 1985 - 1988 C. Kansas City Chiefs ASST H.C. 2013-2016 D. Buffalo Bills QB coach 2017- Present Both of these coaches have other coaching experience as well Here are others Kevin O'Connell www.redskins.com/team/coaches-roster/kevin-o-connell Kevin Stefanski www.vikings.com/team/coaches-roster/kevin-stefanski

Well I guess we see what he has in the remaining games. If there isn't substantial improvement then it's time to get someone else. Personally I'd rather bring in someone else. Someone who is used to working with young inexperienced QB. Don't want Rosen ruined before he has a chance to succeed.

I hope (and pray) that BL grows fast with Rosen the rest of the season together. Wilks' job will depend on it.
If they go new coach end of year BL will face a new challenge with a new regime coming in.

I hope Leftwich doesn't teach any QB how to throw. He had one of the worse throwing motions in NFL history. Look at his film. With his motion, he probably wouldn't even be considered for a QB position in this day and age.

The problem is the same as it has been for years.. The OL is terrible. Can’t block for RB’s and can’t stop the pass rush.
There is no OC in the nfl that could turn this offense around, until the OL gets healthy and plays better. Same problem every year. Year after Year!!
Next year with all the cap space, maybe they can change this. But most teams don’t let premier OL guys hit Free Agency. There are guys that hit the market that WERE at one time premier O linemen. So the cards need to draft and coach up guys, if they want to fix this problem. SK has drafted 9 guys in his tenure, maybe humpries will get better.
It’s the Oline that is the biggest problem on the offense.. I don’t expect it to change much until next year “MAYBE”
Go Cards!!

You gotta start somewhere. I'd like to see some new blood rather than retreads.

You gotta start somewhere. I'd like to see some new blood rather than retreads. And Leftwich is new blood. And good enough that even BA let him do play calls in 2 PS games in the 2017 season. All hot new young bloods Have to start somewhere FLCF. And these remaining games of the distastrous 2018 season will be Leftwich's proving grounds. Hope he makes it!

LEFTWICH AS OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR - THE REALITY:
1. He's the only person in the system now with ANY experience with offensive play calling and a quarterback background. 2. When allowed, his choices of plays have reportedly been successful. 3. Most importantly, he is not named McCoy. 4. Who else is even available for an immediate takeover of OC duties? Or who would even accept that knowing a major coaching change is possible later?
5. He can't do any worse than had we kept McCoy.
It was a surprise that he was not named as INTERIM OC, rather taking over as if permanent, but that's what we have, and presumably that was considered. (?)
He may prove to be a blessing in disguise - none of us knows for sure. I for one am hoping he succeeds.
Those who worry that BL did not have the best mechanics as a QB might consider that at this level, results matter more than style - and that HE is not on the field any more. If needed in the future a QB coach could certainly be added.
Let's all let things develop as they will, understanding that it can't get much worse on offense. Save the swords for others who are failing in their jobs, and hope that needed changes are made later. (post season, most probably)
EDIT: This was written before the last two posts above.

Iupati is a shadow of his former self Humphries is not developing like he great World beater Keim was talking about when he was drafted. I wanted us to get Mack at center in free agency maybe he did not 'want to come here. We needed a center then in a bad way. Signing these second tier free agents coming off injuries is not working. Most have been failures, Darren College is just one example. Our drafts have been horrible. Robert Cooper, Dorian Johnson, and even a guy a liked Evan Boehm. This has been a recipe for disaster. We now have the cap space. We need to sign 1st players who want to come here and not just for the money. We need healthy additions to the line not nursing home candidates. That is a start at turning this around

This staff cut 2 of our draft picks and replaced them with Who? Nobodies, that's who!
