Titanic, et al,
A Cardinals fact from 2020: That team had major problems stopping RBs on some weekends. Heck, some rookie QBs also had their best career games versus the Cardinals D.
Seems we're kind of in the same situation next Sunday. Many questions and no answers. But we gotta good plan, until someone gets punched in the mouth.

P Yep, we all have lots of questions about how our team will do. Both teams are good, we just don’t know how good yet.

Welcome titanic to our #1 Unofficial Cardinal Forum. I always enjoy a non troll from a different team. You may not be here long, but your comments are welcomed. We/I want to know what the Titans fans are are thinking and any outside information. I won't wish your team good luck, but thanks for posting here......

All 53 players on the active roster practiced on Monday. That’s got to be a first! At least we are healthy.

All 53 players on the active roster practiced on Monday. That’s got to be a first! At least we are healthy. Thanks for the practice head count. This is fantastic news. Yes, everybody practicing is an indication that this team now takes personal practice and team building very seriously. A couple former Cardinals, #11 and #21, the two that seemed to always be distracted or need time off while many others worked hard 7 days a week, are also permanently gone. Sage advice is wonderful, but only if the teacher is available to the student. Were #21 and #11 drags on past practice attitudes? Did the 3rd-year HC finally man up on practice enforcement? We might see some answers Sunday.

All 53 players on the active roster practiced on Monday. That’s got to be a first! At least we are healthy. Good news. We’ve only had two preseason games with hardly any time for the starters, and that time didn’t look good, so we need all the practice together we can get. Not feeling as optimistic as I usually feel (intentionally) at the beginning of this season, but excited for things to finally start. Welcome titanic. I’m liking what the Titans are putting together. Bad luck this weekend! Good luck in your final 16 games and playoffs should you make it.

Titanic is welcome to comment on my musings about the upcoming opener - Titans - - Best OL (Lewan) coming back in 10 mos from major knee surgery vs. CJ (20 lbs lighter and quicker than in 2020 where he was disappointing before going out with a bicep tear) - big matchup here as CJ wants a contract extension and is motivated.
- Julio Jones -- Corey Davis + Jonnu Smith (TE) had over 1430 yds in production; Can JJ make that up ?
- Derrick Henry - almost 800 carries in the last 2 yrs including playoff appearances. No other RB is close to this amount of carries.
- Derrick Henry - in 2020, average 3.7 or LESS in 3 of the first 4 games including opener. (Of Course in Game #5 ran for 212 vs. the Texans). From a far it seems like Derrick Henry works himself into shape during the first month of season and gets stronger as season wears on.
- Is DL Jeffery Simmons (who I liked out of college) and now fully healthy from an injury sustained prior to last years draft ready to have a breakthrough year?
- We know symptomatic Covid cases have tended to weaken players for a few weeks even after recovery so how will this play out in the Nashville heat & humidity ?
Cards - I have a few more since I am more familiar with their personnel - KM - ready to become one of the top 6 QB's in the NFL and now in 3rd year ascend like a few other young QB's did in the last few years ?
- ILB - 2 young LB's with a huge amount of talent but Zaven Collins is a rookie at the "Mike" LB. Is Isaiah Simmons the 2021 breakthrough defensive player in the NFL ?
- JJ Watt - what has he got left in tank ? Should be ready to go for opener but for rest of season how many snaps will we see him
- OL -- was very underrated last year and according to some metrics was actually a top 6-7 OL despite having a terrible center. The latter position got one of the biggest upgrades at any position in the entire NFL with Rodney Hudson; I've said since Day 1 that with a smaller QB preventing push up the middle is critical so the battle of the Cards interior OL vs. Titans interior DL will be CRITICAL in this game
- Will K2 adopt more Kugler and run the ball more particularly to the left side of the formation where future Pro Bowler LT DJ Humphries, Justin Pugh and Hudson make for a very solid left side of the OL.
- Will AJ Green's presence as a nice tall target who I believe can help KM with having a tall receiver to see on 15-20 yd crossing patterns -- Titans have inexperience at ILB and safety so this will be interesting.
- Can the Secondary prevent the big play from AJ Brown and Julio Jones ?
- Cards lost at least 2 games last year via missed FG's inside 45 yds -- can new vet kicker Prater make all of his kicks as he did in the preseason. Titans have a journeyman kicker in Ficken as their new kicker though he did make all of his FG's/PAT's in the preseason.
- Can Rondale Moore continue to impress and make a difference as the faster man on the field in both the return and passing game. Oh -- and running via sweeps.
- Lastly -- can the Cards play a physical football game for 60 minutes in Mid-80's weather with 78% HUMIDITY ?? ... I hope all the players take the precautions from the training and nutrition staff to prevent heat exhaustion and cramps.
- OH yea -- don't go out the night before in Nashville as we dont' want 5-6 Cardinals to not be eligible for the Vikes in Week #2. -- Cards must try to go 3-3 or 4-2 in these first 6 games which is the brutal part of their schedule.

Lewan coming back from a torn ACL has been fine so far, but certainly getting his first action in a real game will be worth paying attention to.
Julio Jones is a much better WR than Corey Davis, so I’m not worried about that. Plus, they also added other WRs for depth.
Losing Jonnu Smith is noticeable. He was good as both a blocker and receiver. The next 2 guys return from last year. Swaim is a good blocker, Firkser is really more of a receiver. Think of Firkser as a big slot WR. He isn’t nearly as athletic as Jonnu, but he just gets open. You can expect to see him as a receiver on 3rd downs.
Henry is a freak. He never seems to tire. He did start slow the last couple of seasons, but there were extenuating circumstances.
Simmons looks like a star on the rise at DT. Last year he was a bit of a disappointment, but part of that was the scheme and the rest of the players around him. This year they added plenty of help for him and are going to be more aggressive up front.
Not sure what the impact of Covid infections will be after the fact, but as most Titans are vaccinated I would assume we would see minimal impact.

As you can imagine, I only hope Derrick Henry starts off slow in Week #1 but I'll be rooting like crazy for him to rollup 200+ yards against the other NFC West opponents of the Titans.

There's a whole lotta receivers in this pic.. I thought I was done being tormented by DHop when the Texans traded him. But I guess facing him once every 4 years is better than twice a year.
