The Patriots always seem to have multiple draft picks every year with several compensation picks too.

The Patriots always seem to have multiple draft picks every year with several compensation picks too. Which are the result of having a much better than average GM.

This has been bothering me since the coaches were hired. Ground and pound is just not the Cards identity, it feels like just yesterday they had three 1,000 yard receivers. Their passing attack was so potent, it forced the Seahawks to create the Legion of Boom just so they had a chance at winning the division, that’s who the Cardinals are. Ground and pound is for cold weather teams, I hope Leftwich gets away from it and let’s it fly out there. If it has to be a lost season, let’s go out having some fun Yeah well you need balance almost all the good offenses can do both not relying on just the passing game. Our best years was when the running game was a threat as well.

Lets face it. The draft is a crap shoot. Doesn't matter the round, though early rounds don't have as many failures as from the 3rd on. Pats know one thing and stick to it. The more picks you have the better your chances are to hit on someone in those later rounds. Just look at when they beat us. Gimmy G was the QB and they had a couple late round picks starting on the O line. It also has a lot to do with coaching. They always have some of the better position coaches in football.

If it has to be a lost season, let’s go out having some fun We used the ground game with Edgerton James in the playoff. They probably had the softest pass defense (irony considering how many years we wasted talented defensive squads) in the league or Super Bowl history going out against the top pass defense but we outgained the Steelers on the ground in that game as well as other team's in playoff games. Cardinals had a hard time passing but they managed to split the safeties for a long Fitzgerald TD. Why not follow the again 96-98 Broncos model have a great running game combined with deep passes to Rod Smith, Ed McAffery, and Shannon Sharpe. I'd take advantage of David Johnson. You can't just run on 1st down for a short gain and pass your way out plays to the defense advantages. Probably would pass more on first down run on 2 point conversions. Did you see the end of Chargers and Titans where they had 3 tries and passed every time failing? I love balance especially a bruising ground game in the 4th quarter.

Lets be real...we have speedsters who can't catch deep balls. We can't air it out. What we can do is call inventive running plays. Keim keeps want to forcing JJ into the lineup? Fine...lets get him going out of the backfield with some slashing runs.
