I don’t think it would hurt the Cardinals to have some joint practices next year. Going against the same guys again and again, you just get used to them. So someone throwing something different at you can make you look really bad until you get settled. You can only have so many reps against the same 6 DE’s and you get used to them and their moves. Then you get new guys and they are just throwing them off.
I know Dallas had joint practices with Rams and a preseason game before playing us. The Rams had joint practices with two teams.
Now the Chiefs did not have joint practices with anyone so that does not help the argument much, but Mahomes had a passer rating of 43.3 and one can say even though they moved it a bit, they were not overly sharp either.
The back ups seemed to move the ball better, so the play calling worked for them. They also played a game where as Kyler has not gone against a true pash rush yet. I don’t care what he thinks, its completely different wearing a pink jersey where they cant hit you in practice to guys wanting to rip your head off, even in preseason.

Why don’t the Cardinals have joint practices with an AFC team that they won’t play in the regular season. I was thinking KC would have been a great team to have joint practices with. The downside is you have players like Antonio Brown that gets heated and rips a helmet off the opponent and than punches him in the face. Don’t need any of that but it can also happen in regular training camp. It would be good to go against another team in practice.

I'm looking for a solid string of practices away from TC at SFS and back to Tempe. Let's change the environment, get into regular season mode, get JJ Watt back out there with CJ. Baker, get starters all down to Tempe practicing and Let's get ready for some football. Things I'm looking for: Rodney Hudson with KM and that oline development and good practices with their protections, help, counts, cadences. Etc.
The Dline starters and all offensive starters practicing together and a lot of reps.

I think this team will go as far as the starters take them. There is rotational factors for depth but this team needs Kyler Murray, Hopkins, Watt, CJ, Simmons, Baker, Collins, etc to win 9, 10 games and make the playoffs. Edmonds is a good receiving back as well. R. Moore at WR and guys like Marco at cb are those upside rookies that can help. Obviously the Cards aren't showing much, but the switch better come on soon. The oline is concerning. How many WR and bubble screens can we throw to cover up shortcomings of the offensive line. How many times does KM have to take off and run for it before he gets hurt. This team needs a pocket passing game in the worst way. Sir, Ma'am, About that W/L total and making the playoffs, here are my thoughts: With the new 17-game schedule, a 10- or 11-win season likely won't earn a Division crown except in an awful Conference Division (NFC East, as example). Those win totals maybe earn a Wild Card spot. Only maybe. Remember also that there is 1 less Wild Card berth in each Conference in year 2021 (NFL COVID love ended 2020). To be 99% assured of earning a spot in the big show in the future, a 13-4 or better 2021 season is needed. Back in 2013, during Bruce Arians first year as Head Coach, the Cardinals finished a 16-game season with a 10-6 record. That was an impressive first year for any HC! The Cardinals O scored 379 points (NFL Rank 16th). The D gave up 324 points (NFL rank 7th). The team was quite good on O and D, but not good enough in the NFC and and especially the very difficult NFCW. Even if the Cardinals finished at 11-5, it was doubtful that the team could qualify for the playoffs (see analysis: profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/12/28/cardinals-can-become-third-11-5-team-to-miss-playoffs/ ). As it turned out, the Cardinals crashed and burned at the last game of the regular season, to the highly rated and despised 49ers. The Cardinals opened the season by losing to the 4th place Rams. Those two games sealed the Cardinals fate for the season as it turned out. Again, the Cardinals finished 10-6 (0.625%) in 2013, 3rd in the NFCW Division, and failed to make the playoffs for good reason. With a 17-game schedule, a 10-win season reduces the percentage to 0.588%. Definitely not good enough for any playoffs berth most years. An 11-win season bumps that to 0.647%. In the playoffs conversation now. An 12-win season bumps that to 0.705%. In the Division Crown conversation now. An 13-win season bumps that to 0.764%. In the Conference Bye conversation now. An 14-win season bumps that to 0.823%. In the "Super Bowl Dynasty" conversation now. And so forth.

Put,
I thought the expanded playoffs is here to stay. There are 7 teams making the playoffs from each Conference. Add the expansion of 17 games and it is possible to have an 8-9 playoff team.

The 2020 change to an additional WC team is permanent, per the CBA. Also, the rules for roster expansion (due to last minute COVID-19 affects) are extended in 2021, per recent NFL decision.
