It’s the SECOND preseason game in which they do not game plan for. How could I ever make that assumption over this. That is just silly. Colt is moving the ball, so the play calling must not be that bad. Kliff didnt drop a pass, miss a block, fumble or run out of bounds before the line of scrimmage. Players gotta play man. So many games are over in the first two series on here on game day its hilarious. People overreact way too much. Now I need to worry about the season because of SOME of the starters not looking great in their first action? No, I do not feel confident claiming their preparation level one way or the other over this game. How you could asume...is they always look like this..since 88 they have looked like this......good luck with your dreams) What dream are we referring to? These random comments people make up that weren’t said are odd. I said I cant make assumptions either way off this. Have fun complaining all night. This is the best Streveler has ever looked, so since we base the whole season off this game I guess we have a keeper and future star in Streveler. And weird the play calling and coaching is working for him. Hmm… I remember the Cardinals going 4-0 in preseason and I think maybe went 5-11 for the season. But okay, you can claim I am “dreaming’, meanwhile I would accuse me of a more “wait and see” rather than Half of your and your meltdowns that the season is over.

But when players aren’t doing that on both sides of the ball I feel that’s a reflection on HC. If this happens week one I will be right there with you. I will still also relax a bit and give them more than 3 series in that game. I’m not going to get upset or excited in a preseason game.

Streveler settled down after that first pass the sailed high on the sideline
Nice drive, I know he can run
I want him to pass on every play
They need to see him improve

Unbelievable nobody mentions the Cards had no pass rush for this game. Watt, CJ, and Golden. NONE of them played.

I didn’t see Marco in the 2nd half, hope he wasn’t nicked up.

I'll sum last night's Cardinals preseason game this way...the HC's objectives were different and the players played with different goals in mind. I think both teams accomplished what they wanted to do last night. The Cardinals record is still 0-0. PS games are meaningless in a W/L debate.
The Kansas City Chiefs used the matchup to see how far the team has to go to achieve Championship caliber. Obviously, this KC team does not have to improve much in any area. The fall off in talent from Chiefs starters to backups is almost nil. Great team again.
The Arizona Cardinals used the matchup to evaluate some starters readiness for regular season game 1, determine which 3rd, 4th, and 5th string guys will move up the depth chart, and confirm the guys that won't make the 53-man roster but could move to the Practice Squad. About 10-12 guys will be out of pro football in two weeks. The fall off in talent from Cardinals starters to backups looked insignificant last night--how so? Those guys that played all looked like backups to me. Lots of mental mistakes and just not big enough or strong enough. This is not a great Cardinals team, not even close. Some parts are retooled since 2020. Some parts did not get better, probably because there is just not anyway to draft or sign those future HoFers. There is team athleticism and intellectual talent galore but not on a par with top tier teams like KC.
Next week's PS game at NOS is a chance to see if the starters improved mental readiness. If the starters do not improve on O, D, and ST, Tennessee will not have any problems with the Cardinals. Keim cannot do more. He's signed the best available players. However, Kingsbury and his staff can and must get the O, D, and ST on the same page. I saw too many mental errors, too many guys out of position, and too many guys late on plays to beat the next Chiefs caliber team.
Murray was not on the field long enough for me to evaluate his readiness. His plays were scripted. McCoy looked sharp again. He's going to get some time under Center this season. Streveler again looked like a RB wearing a QB uniform. There's a lot of Bobby Douglas and Tim Tebow DNA in that man's body.
Anyone miss WR Larry Fitzgerald? I am only sad that he won't get the victory tour at Arizona in 2021. Maybe he can get a gig deal in another town for a few games.

It's tough to predict the season based on a preseason game, but Cards didn't look very good. I'm not expecting anything out of this team until they show me; otherwise I won't be surprised if they come in last or have a losing record. The offensive line looked bad. No pass rush of course. No surprise there. If this were a regular season game, KC would have lit us up.

KC dominated ARZ last night in the same manner that LA dominated ARZ in the last game of the season in 2020. Six months passed between those two outings. Little has changed regarding performance metrics vs. the best 2 teams. KC and LA are top-tier teams and ARZ is not a top-tier team, not yet anyway based on 'execution' witnessed at the DAL and KC PS games. Vs. DAL, the Cardinals were flat, not dominate. Vs. KC, the Cardinals got rolled like street dogs. Next week's final PS game, ARZ vs. NOS, will go a long way toward informing Cardinals fans if and how the team improved since 2020. So far, the team has too many player questions and not enough player answers. I am revising my W/L forecast for 2021. I am less optimistic today.

Man this is true. I feel like he eases off before tackling the RB. Didn't he get flagged last year more than a few times in his short time on the field for unnecessary roughness or personal fouls? I read somewhere they were working with him on his technique to avoid more of the same this year.

I think this team will go as far as the starters take them. There is rotational factors for depth but this team needs Kyler Murray, Hopkins, Watt, CJ, Simmons, Baker, Collins, etc to win 9, 10 games and make the playoffs. Edmonds is a good receiving back as well. R. Moore at WR and guys like Marco at cb are those upside rookies that can help. Obviously the Cards aren't showing much, but the switch better come on soon. The oline is concerning. How many WR and bubble screens can we throw to cover up shortcomings of the offensive line. How many times does KM have to take off and run for it before he gets hurt. This team needs a pocket passing game in the worst way.
