Given his recent run in with the law, the state of the franchise @ 1-6, his under-performing draft picks of late. Should he be fired during this long off week?
Keim Pros: (Include signings, and draft picks)* not in chronological order* Palmer Jones Dansby DJ Buchannon Baker Gresham Veldeer Iupate Cole Knee Deep(?) Golden
Keim Cons: (includes signings and draft picks) * not in chronological order* Brandon Williams Ginn Jr. JJ Nelson John Brown Badger Nkemdiche Chad Williams(?) Evan Beohm (sp?)
Feel free to add to either list, I'm just giving examples of Keim's body of work (after a few libations). I'm honestly undecided on what Keim's future should be. Fired after this disgraceful blow-out was my initial reaction. Curious to what other Cardinal fan's think.
Thumbs up? Thumbs down?

Are you asking whether Keim should be retained or are you asking us to review his overall body of work. It is two separate questions. If you are asking us to review his body of work, you could argue he has done an average to an above average job. He helped lead us to an NFC championship appearance. He has done an excellent job in free agency. However, he was also responsible for our decline over the past 3 seasons. He did a terrible job drafting overall. He allowed key players to leave via free agency that could have been re-signed. He failed to address key problem areas namely cornerback, wide receiver, and quarterback in the draft during his tenure.
Regarding whether he should be retained, the answer is no. Despite his early success, he is responsible for the decline of the team for the reasons give above. He hired these coaches. He was responsible for two consecutive bust drafts in 2016 and 2017. And outside of Rosen and Kirk, the 2018 draft looks less than promising. The team needs to move in a new direction. And Keim probably needs a re-start as well with a different organization.
I think where Keim struggles as scout and analyst is his overemphasis on athleticism vs skill and intelligence. This is why he drafts small school guys because he loves the guy with the 4.3 speed from a small school. There is a reason the 4.3 guy isn't playing in the SEC and it's not because he is a great player that just got overlooked. All GM's take chances on athletes but they do so in later rounds. Keim reached on a lot of players that could have been easily drafted in later rounds like Chad Williams, Brandon Williams and Logan Thomas. No one was drafting those guys in the 3rd or 4th round for that matter. If you want to take a chance on those guys, take them in the 5th or 6th round.

Life blood of any NFL team is the draft.
Keim is a bad drafter.
Therefore this team is poisoned so long as hes GM.

Thumbs down?gotta take some off the plus list: it was luck as much as anything that allowed sk to sign carson, dj, and rosen. Gresham has way underplayed his contract. don't forget also that he had an all-pro lt, drafted Humphries, moved valdeer to rt-which failed and then dumped valdeer.

Freeny in the Pro column. Gresham in the Con column. Logan Thomas in the Con Column. or... are we talking current roster? I can keep going...

Bingo. Zaz hit the nail on the head. Life blood of any team is the draft. You should only be signing FA as a fill in not be the star of the team. SK's drafts have been less than stellar. Basically the 16 draft was a total wash out. The 17 is hotly following in persuit. Still wondering why he signed Smith and Pugh. Smith hasn't been any good for over 2 year now. Pugh didn't exactly come from one of the better lines. Matter of fact they were just as bad if not worse than the Cards line last year. Plus he has had injury problems before. He sure wasn't Valdeer or Iupiti when he showed up.
For me the DUI has nothing to do with SK being kept or let go. It's all on his decisions the last 3 or 4 years. Those decisions haven't been very good. From the draft to free agent signings he has at best a D grade. Time to move on from SK. Time to move on from this whole coaching staff. Need to rid the Cards of the stench of this whole year and start new next year. That's with a whole new coaching staff and GM.

Someone said it another thread. Bidwill and Keim and too tight for him to be fired this season.

Well it sounds like McCoy will be fired and maybe more. Thats what I got from Keims. Brought up Rosen playing late in the 4th and he didn't sound too concerned about that he was more concerned about the loss. Said it reminded him of that 58-0 blowout against Seattle.

Thanks for your responses. I know I missed some obvious signings and draft picks.
