1. That if you are going to lose, then hope for as many losses as possible to force MB to hire a new GM and coaching staff 2. Get the 1st pick in the draft 3. Hire an offensive minded head coach like John DeFillipo 4. Hire an assistant GM from a successful team with a similar budget and market size (in order: Minnesota, Kansas City, Pittsburgh etc)

Why? Why do some people only want McCoy gone & not Wilks? Wilks is just as incompetent as McCoy. How do you know Wilks is incompetent? The offense is the problem and he's a defensive coach. Yes, he picked the wrong OC but if the offense could keep the team off the field for half the game then we might be good. How do you NOT know Wilks is incompetent? We have the worst run defense in the NFL. The overall defense is ranked 24th. He made the ill advised choice to change from a 3-4 to a 4-3 with a zone scheme. Our personnel was designed to fit a 3-4 scheme and still made the change to do so. He failed to adapt the scheme to the talent on the team. The defense is committing penalties and missing tackles, all signs of poor coaching. |

Team had a top 5-6 defense since Todd Bowles running a 3-4 with Buc playing well (when healthy). IMO coaches are supposed to be able to adapt and run a system which fits personnel best ... instead Wilkes and Holcomb came in believing "their system" and are forcing players to try and fit. Much discussion on 98.7 this AM that it appears some players have not fully bought in on running this system ... some discussion that the defense may go back to 8 in the box and going Cover 1 or man-to-man in the secondary.

I've been a Card fan since they were in STL. Guess I'm a glutton for punishment....lol
Look the season is over for the Cards. The only thing that matters in any sport at any level is making the playoffs. Cards have ZERO chance of doing that. This team is a train wreck, and with this coaching staff O don't see that changing in the last 10 games. Matter of fact I don't see this team improving in any area. Now the best thing this team can do is get the highest 1st round draft pick possible. Would rather loose the rest of the games and get that 1st over all pick. Many way to go with that pick. Then it also might insure getting rid of this whole coaching staff. Face it. Wilks is not ready to be a head coach. McCoy is a disaster as a O coordinator. Can't really say the D coordinator is any good either. Need a whole new staff put in place. For me that also in tails getting rid of SK. Guy just isn't cutting it as a GM.
This team needs an infusion of talent at each and every position. Our WR and TE's are some of the worst groups in football. Same can be said for our O line. Our LB's save for Bynes simply suck. Our D line doesn't have a disrupter in the bunch. Were getting gashed with teams running the ball on us. Then our O is a 3 and out mess. So that puts our inadequate D on the field way to long.
This team needs a total rebuild. We have some pieces to work with. We now have our QBOF. A good RB. A couple D backs who are very good. Maybe add Jones to that list. Other than that this team personnel wise sucks.
Hope Mikey has seen enough. Hope he cleans house from the GM on down to every coach. |
