That was a hell of a good training video for anyone that aspires to drive an armored truck. The bullets were raining. The driver was stressed, meanwhile the driver's co-pilot was as calm as a cucumber. The driver seemed to do a couple U-turns on a multilane road and drive into traffic at least once in order to escape the hail of bullets on both sides of the armored van.

That was an intense video. You see shoot them up scenes in the movies all the time, but this was the real deal. When you hear the impact of bullets hitting their vehicle and the bullet resistance glass cracking...that's as real as it gets. No doubt both thought this was it, yet it wasn't wasn't. Hooray for the good guys.
I almost have more sympathy for the passenger and what he went through. There was literally nothing he could do but sit there and hope for the best. The driver was at least busy and had no time to think about what might happen. One thing for sure, that driver does not panic when faced imminent and deadly danger. He deserves a bonus for that day of work.

That video was on ABC news early this morning and many positive things were said about the two security guards completely cool and professional while AK-47 7.62mm rounds were pounding their truck on the right and left sides. I then went back and rewatched the video on the big screen. Wow, it's even more impressive when you have a second look.
Those South African special guards are 'truly special'.

I got to admit, this is one of my favorite post/topic in some time. I have done some looking around trying to find new information. While details are still sketchy, here are some links that provide a little more light as to what went down that day. some guy making comments as to what he saw in the video
interview with the driver and his partner
Former Kardashian bodyguard who fought off gunmen attacking his vehicle Apparently the Kardashians has an eye for talent....lol A couple more things. When I first saw the original video, I thought they were just trying to get away. After watching the additional footage and added information. Its clear he was not only making defensive maneuvers, but offensive ones as well.....he tried to run those guys down. They pissed off the wrong guy....lol. Also, the co-pilot was not just a rookie, it was only his forth day on the job. I have to say though, even though he couldn't do much, he was cool as one could hope for his first battle test. He even managed to call Robbie and Josh while fearing for his life. Its still not clear who Robbie and Josh are, but it seems to me they may have been part of the convoy.

Thanks for the excellent additional video with analysis. The security team driver used a tactical maneuver that I was taught and used once long ago. If attacked by moving threat, first, DO NOT STOP, SURRENDER, AND BECOME A HOSTAGE. Second, keep moving. Third, speed is life, counterattack, and force the attacker to withdraw. The security team did all that perfectly. The odds favored the security team in the fast-moving armored van, not the men jumping out of the pickup and standing in the road with guns. They had a no chance vs. the 3-ton vehicle, and likely realized their big plans were gone when the pock-marked security van driver actually tried to run down one dummy and did not slow down. After the first barrage of bullets, note that the security team driver first tried the classic 'pick maneuver' by clipping the right-rear of the passing hostile pickup truck. The security team driver was trying to get the pickup to spin out of control. After dodging the roadblock, the driver takes the automatic machine gun and steps out of the cab. The video ends at that point. I'm guessing he was sending a message to any pursuers in the unarmored pickup and car. "Keep attacking and you are dead."
