Cardinals players unhappy with offense, split on decision to make Josh Rosen starting QB Thus far, the team has publicly shown a united front and support of their coaching staff, but according to AZCentral Sports’ Bob McManaman, it isn’t as united as has been stated publicly. “There’s a lot of unhappy players in the room,” he said on FOX Sports 910 this week. “It’s a bad mood. It’s a bad energy.” He spoke particularly about the unhappiness on offense. “It’s very uncreative and unimaginative on offense, the playcalling, and a lot of the guys on offense aren’t liking it,” he said. And what might come as a surprise, despite the results on the field, there are those who still believe Sam Bradford should be the team’s starting quarterback. “In talking to some players, I think it’s split as to whether they should have even gone to Josh Rosen,” McManaman said. “There’s a lot of guys that still wish they had Sam Bradford as their quarterback. “A lot of guys still think their best chance to win, and those were direct quotes from people I’ve talked to, probably is to stay with Sam Bradford.” cardswire.usatoday.com/2018/10/11/az-arizona-cardinals-offense-problems-split-locker-room/FTR I think we should stick with Josh Rosen because he can escape downfield without fumbling but I can understand being unhappy with the offense. Edit -- I think they should catch a few ball's first before complaining about who is QB.

1. Of course everybody is mad about the offense. Its garbage.
2. The only person upset about the QB switch is Sam Bradford. Lying nonsense to imply anybody was upset he was benched. Hack writer trying to create story.

This doesn't surprise me except for the part where there are some that think SB should still be in there at QB.

You mean the players aren't happy with the terrible play calling and being the worst offense in the league?! That's just shocking.... and I've never heard of Bob whoever wrote the article so I doubt trust that any players believe Sam should be starting still.

McManaman just threw a big rock into Wilks and McCoy's pond. Their tranquility has been disturbed. Will this "wake up" McCoy and his "Offensive" play calling? Somebody give the man a "biscuit"! Oh Wait! Would he really "riskit"!??

True. But he will strain at his leash occasionally while his buddy Somers toes the Company Line. (giving a little credit where it's due)

Chips and dip as well.

Agreed.
“It’s very uncreative and unimaginative on offense, the playcalling, and a lot of the guys on offense aren’t liking it ...” (from the link)
That eliminates either QB in my view, and casts the blame squarely on McCoy. It is also a very apparent fact to anyone viewing a game so far.
If there really are players who prefer Sam to Josh, it must be a case of fraternal loyalty (or the feeling that the Cards management want to save dollars?) since Sam was just not producing on the field.
Sam had ample opportunity to do so but could not manage to direct any positive result. With his experience he should be able to recognize a bad play call for a given defense, but it was not obvious to me that he changed any plays. All those years of background as a "successful" QB were contributing nothing to the Cardinals when he was playing, and even old pros have to admit that is the case... if the quotes are accurate.
Josh was better IMO in that he would at least look for and sometimes hit receivers downfield rather than picking the nearest open guy, like Sam did.
Having said the above, It is a minor miracle that any QB could make a good offense work with such poor play calling, so everything is relative to that primary problem.
Whether there may also be an element of worry for the safety of Rosen being used so soon may not have been considered by the author of that quote. I would like to think that even the old pros would not want to see Rosen hurt under present circumstances to make the play calling look good.

The players here had no history with or loyalty to Bradford. I simply don’t believe any of them long for the offensive offensive (not a typo) play the first three weeks. Larry would not have said that. Kirk is Rosen’s buddy. The Oline? Doubt it. David wouldn’t have said it. Baloney.
What I do believe is the players not being cool with the offensive offensive playcalling by our new OC.

Seems to me a leak has occurred by an offensive player to push pressure for McCoy to change (blames McCoy over Bradford for offensive failures) or from someone in management to provide "cover" when SK fires McCoy at the bye week ... unless things get much better quickly.

If McCoy doesn’t open his playbook with creativity, he has to be fired! Because of the short week against Denver, we might have to wait a week.

I'm sure there is bickering in the locker room. I'm sure some of the vets still want SB as the QB. It's funny SB was very good in Shirmer's offense. Then he comes here and McCoy is the offense coordinator, and we all know how Sam has played. We also know McCoy is a terrible O coordinator. Just look at how Fitz and DJ are being used. Neither one to their strengths. Not saying we would be a play off contender with SB as our QB, but with a competent O coordinator we at least wouldn't look like garbage on offense. We also have 2 of the worst rated guards by PFF in football, and the worst rated O line by PFF. That to me is totally on SK and the coaches. SK for assembling this putrid line and the coaches for not making it better.
MB is not his Daddy. I actually believe MB knows what he is doing to an extent. Right now he isn't a happy camper. I'm sure he realized this was a transition year, but I'm sure he never though he would be looking as this mess that has been created. It wouldn't surprise me if this the whole bunch was let go at the end of the year. MB isn't going to put up with this sort of play. I think SK is on the hot seat. Same with Wilks. I think MB knows now Wilks wasn't ready to be a head coach. He also sees the major mistakes SK has made with his personnel decisions.
We may have to put up with this garbage for the rest of the year. but I think there will be a whole bunch of new faces around here come next season. Starting from the GM on down.
