IF Horn and Farley are off the board at Rd 1 #16, I still see Keim picking a Defender with the Cardinals first pick. Keim will not trade down in this draft. That's a higher risk bet. The squeeze is not worth the juice.

The squeeze is not worth the juice. IMO SK missed an opportunity as two (2) CB targets in FA were signed on the cheap -- 1) Sidney Jones for $1.75M and Quinton Dunbar who 2 yrs ago had a PFF in the 80's was signed by the Lions for less than $1M !!! The NET cap hit on these 2 signings would have been only about $1.5M total -- would have allowed the Cards tremendous flexibility to maneuver around this draft and to absolutely kill it. Everyone in the NFL is aware the Cards must sign a CB in the first 2 rounds and I am a little worried a team is going to move one spot ahead to get the Cards target at CB.

Everyone in the NFL is aware the Cards must sign a CB in the first 2 rounds and I am a little worried a team is going to move one spot ahead to get the Cards target at CB. The idea that a team will leapfrog a division or conference foe just to take the foe's targeted player off the board makes almost no sense to me. Burning a pick in order to tick off another GM is silly draft management. GMs are not 3yo's despite War Room acts and appearances. However, when a team, let's just say it's Kansas City, as an example, leapfrogs the Cardinals and takes QB Patrick Mahomes, then that KC move is considered brilliant, but only after the gunslinger delivers a Super Bowl trophy at his sophomore year. Here's another odd Draft day twist of fate: The Seattle Seahawks did not leapfrog the Cardinals and take WR Andy Isabella. Why? The Seahawks may have liked both Isabella and WR Metcalf, and valued them the same. Or, maybe valued them so closely that Seattle would have been happy with either WR. We will never know because there are not decision process notes. We do know that Keim undervalued Metcalf's positive physicality traits. Keim possibly believed the few negatives about a neck injury, he cannot turn his hips, etc. Metcalf was snapped up by Seattle without any trading action at all. The rest is history, like the Mahomes saga. Now about that Cornerback the Cardinals need. Sure, everyone on the planet knows the Cardinals are on the hunt for one of the top 3 CBs: Surtain, Horn, Farley, etc. These 3 may be gone by the time the Cardinals pick at #16. Or maybe just CB Horn is sitting there unclaimed at #15, and Keim's phone rings: A voice says, "Hey Steve, what is Horn worth to you?" Steve has to ponder the proposal for a minute. Trade, no trade? Cost? That has to be decided in a minute. Keim has to know the call can happen and he has to be ready. No dillydallying allowed. That's the Draft and the game's poker stakes. Horn's value may be more or less than BPA, per Keim's War Room board. My bottom line: I think the Cardinals will draft a top CB this year. He will not be a hotshot CB like PP21 was in his rookie year. And, if the 1st pick is not spent on a CB, that's probably okay too. Butler was signed as CB insurance. Keep that in mind. How about a DE or LB instead of a CB? Or a WR or RB? Be bold, or go home! Lest we forget also that RB Derrick Henry from Alabama was drafted in the 2nd round, 44th pick, in 2016. Now look at his performance from 2020. Remind me, when is the Cardinals 2nd pick? --49th. www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/for-some-reason-the-titans-drafted-heisman-winner-derrick-henry/Attachments:

Another Option I am thinking about is someone like a Gregory Newsome in a trade down if they get enough for that first pick

If you all did not know by now, I dislike the idea of trading down for the sole purpose of picking up more draft picks. Player risks typically are higher in later rounds.

Horn - Waddle - if not there, then trade down. FYI WR - OT/G - 2 deepest positions in this draft so trade down to get a 3rd rounder or 3rd rounder and 5th or 6th rounder and add quality depth at these positions. 2nd Observation - Javonte Williams will be better than either Najee Harris or Travis Etienne (or both) with RB being the position easiest to select 2nd-4th rounder and find quality who perform as well as a 1st rounder (UNLESS generational talent such as Adrian Peterson of which neither Harris nor Etienne qualify). Heck Harris couldn't even beat out Josh Jacobs at Alabama and the landscape is full of Alabama RB's who have just been ok in the NFL. BTW - Gil Brandt has Harris as his #26 prospect and J. Williams #31. Gil Brandt Top 100 prospectsLuckily, CB is a strong position as well so on a trade down into the 20's one of these guys or more will be available (ranked in my order) with the first 3 going in Rd. #1 and the last 3 going between 29-50. 1) Farley 2) T. Campbell 3) Newsome 4) Aaron Robinson 5) K. Joseph 6) Eric Stokes

I got a D+ and a C grade I think Horn is gone by #16 Waddle may be as well.
