Is any like me thinking that Seattle trades Russell Wilson for a slew of picks and drafts a new QBOF? Seattle only has 3 draft picks and RW is disgruntled.

Watson was mentioned in a couple conversations too, I think. No more heard about QB moves at TX and WA since the massage fiasco boiled over into the national press. I could be mistaken tho.

Right Chicago wasn't mentioned in a trade for Wilson and that fell apart. I still think that the Seahawks will be trading him before the draft to gain a bunch of draft picks and picking up another QB through the draft or quite possibly picking up Minshew which would be a good decision for the Seahawks bad for us.

The trade was shot down by Carroll if reporting was correct. Despite how young he looks, he's one of the oldest (if not oldest?) coaches in the league. He is not interested in a rebuild at this point of his career. I highly doubt that they move Wilson, especially since it would have to be with a team that is in a position to grab a QB this year. Maybe the Jets?

Funny thing about this thread, I wanted to mention a bit about Seattle and their draft status. Not completely on point, but close enough. NFL network had mentioned their lack of picks this year and how they focus on rounds 3-7. The reason for their success here is they have coaches who are willing to develop players. I always take this for granite, I follow a lot of college football and in many ways prefer college, especially live at certain venues more than NFL. A solid rival game and the atmosphere and emotions can get to a very high level. AZ cardinals have been exposed in player development and I would lean to this being more on FO or GM. There should be core values and specific player profiles for each team a system per say that out lasts HCs. Retention of previous players to develop into assistant coaches who teach the next generations the way of the organization. AZ has some of this and the scouting team is a good example, if scouting team is on point with some input from current HC and coordinators the player development becomes plausible. When there is continuous upheaval than this becomes disjointed and players who should have a future with team get cut and other teams take advantage of the player starting to understand their role. A quick look at top picks in last decade show a lack of direction and more of a hope of hitting with draft picks. Long story short is the need for player development and a clear path for the future, instead of the ten second Tom approach AZ has been applying to player development. I have much more to say about this topic, but it would be nice to hear other perspectives.

www.fieldgulls.com/2021/4/15/22384861/seattle-seahawks-draft-23rd-2021-stay-schneider-brooks-trade-second-round-center-corner-receiverSeattle sports writers put their heads together and came up with this idea: the Draft picks tally is not a big deal in 2021. Why? College conferences were all jacked up in 2020. Some players took off the entire year to to COVID-related health and safety issues. Some Seattle writers believe that the UDFA market will be flush with hidden gems that a great GM will horde immediately after the draft concludes. It's worth thinking about: Could the Cardinals also mine the UDFA group and find the next Larry Fitzgerald or Larry Wilson? Likely not, but the idea causes me to think again about how Keim spends his picks and if he does trade down for more picks. This is going to be a great draft for a few lucky GMs that have great scouting departments.
