He recently signed with Rosenhaus. Meaning he wants to be paid. He'd certainly be an upgrade over what we have, but I dont think hes worth long term money.
Id compare him to a better Jaron Brown. Which is good, but not that good. Hes never cleared 1,000 yards in his career. Never started 16 games.

Sign him and cut Nelson in two seconds.
He's not great by any stretch but has decent numbers.

Why didn't we try for Josh Gordon before NE snagged him? Who is to say the Team did not? Maybe Gordon only wanted to go to NE. A team he was sure is going to win. |

Matthews had a great 2016 season. 60+ catches, almost 1000yds. 1 fumble. He obviously can catch the ball all over the field.
What happened since then? Injuries?

It would be great to bring him in cheap and then have a team option for year 2. I would try to do the same thing with Dez Bryant. If they perform well in the 2nd half of the season, we don't just watch them walk away to another team, we have the option to keep them around for 2019.

So I just watched some video highlights on Matthews and I like what I saw. He is a better 2nd/3rd receiver than we have. If we can get creative with a contract, we can make it work. Keim, Get’r done.
