12/31/2020 Be Careful what you wish For John Wolford Quarterback Film Study From Jackson Krueger Sports: Thank You My takeaway from the Youtube "HOTSHOTS AAF" film: 1 - Wolford is knowledgeable of the QB job. 2 - Wolford runs fast on roll-outs or shoots DLine gaps. 3 - Wolford can make all the throws. Wolford's accuracy is questionable when he is on the move. Wolford prefers passing in the 5-15 yard range. Vance Joseph will blitz Wolford on obvious pass plays. McVay expects multiple blitz packages and will counter with run option packages. The Cardinals will contain the Rams passing offense. Kingsbury and Murray must face a completely healthy Rams Defense. That is a HC and QB problem that will not be easily solved.

VJ made a statement that shocked me. He was asked about how no runner had gone over 100 yards on his defense, and what did that mean. He said that stopping the run wasn’t a big priority anymore! That the NFL is now a passing league and that is his concern. He went on to say if the other team wants to run the ball 30 times and get 150 yards that is good with him. He felt he could just shut down the run with more men in the box. I wonder if the Niners heard that interview, because that is exactly what they did. First of all stopping the run is not like flipping a light switch. Anything but, had work and practice. Second, the common belief is that you must stop the run to force the passing game. If you let the other team run 30 times how much time does that take off the game? Same amount that KM must watch on bench. You can bet that the Rams will test this new VJ philosophy big time with heavy runs. and the offense still put up 12 points . I don’t care if they ran for 1,000. Kliff and this offense sputtered vs New England but y’all still blamed defense. This line is still atrocious
