I think there are a lot of things to pick on before going after Chase. David hasn’t produced this year either. That 3rd down mishap was not Chase’s fault and David doesnt get the first down either. The play call is what is to blame. You need David in there, but this team has a plethora of issues to be upset about before worrying about our 4th round pick. I'm not picking on Chase Daniels. DJ is a veteran. He's one of the best running backs picking up the blitz and he's also one of the best pass catching backs in the league. With Fitz hampered he might well be the best pass catching option on our team. He has to be in with Rosen in that situation. Rosen was put in to win the game as a rookie, cold off the bench. He deserved to have the best personal on the field and in this case DJ isn't just miles better than Edmunds and has experience. Nobody has argued that DJ should have been in there. For one to understand what someone is saying regarding a player sometimes it helps to read the post that was quoted and responded to. The person I quoted says Chase Edmonds is a yet another small school person who is unable to produce. Funny part is the guy who should have been is also from a small school. I am not here to defend Chase. I have some hopes he can help contribute. What we all need to get used to is that Wilks was very upset we didn’t draft Chase in the 3rd round. Thank goodness we didnt! But, to prove his point he is going to force feed us this kid in effort to prove his point he wanted him earlier. DJ has 44 touches in 3 games. Chase has 19. DJ has not had enough work to lighten his load. I do not want to overuse him but when you run 15 plays in the first half I think DJ will be fine.

I hope we have an Oline that can protect Rosen, but I’m not convinced. Bradford just throws short stuff to protect himself. Rosen was going for first down markers and in that one series the Bears got to him at least twice.

Bradford was largely self preserving. But when he actually was willing to sit in the pocket he seemed to have time.

I agree about the small school thing, it doesn't matter. If the guy can play the guy can play. I happen to like Edmunds but you hit the nail on the head. If our O is running 65 to 75 plays a game and DJ is getting significant work sure play Edmunds and if he gets in rhythm and rolling ride him when it's appropriate. The amount of snaps our O took the entire 2nd half didn't justify a 2nd back. DJ is a complete back and he's got a lot of size. Going against the Bears he simply has a presence on the field that Edmunds just doesn't have. I didn't like the play call especially since we went for it on 4th down. You have to get something positive on that play. You can't lose yardage.

A fake block by him and have him run up the field a couple of yards. Almost a guaranteed first down. He's your best player. You have your best player on the field at the most critical time. I caught Wilks interview late on 98.7. He was talking about a miscommunication on some play. It could have been that one.

Jamar Taylor, but yeah he sucks which brings me to JJ Nelson, why on earth is this pipsqueak occupying a precious roster spot? On the INT I saw zero effort to get to the ball and break it up. Maybe you folks who saw the replays saw something different. If he's the designated deep threat then I don't really see the point in fretting about Wilks, McCoy, Holcomb, etc. quite so much.
He slows to look for the ball now, and the DBs catch him. With Carson P he kept running and looked UP expecting the ball to fall into his hands. (then usually missed it) And as you point out, he won't or can't attempt to keep the DBs from catching the ball either. That makes him useless, IMO - other than as a decoy. He's too small and light for anything else.

I’ve watched all the Bears games too and they sure have gotten to the QB. Mack has been an instant success. I’m an old Chicago guy who grew up with Walter Payton and Fridge Perry posters on my walls. Regardless, from the little bit I’ve seen and read about Rosen, he doesn’t seem like the type who will be rattled and “ruined” like Carr supposedly was. I’m not as worried about that as I initially was. I am still worried about concussions as he has a history, but that will always be a worry.
