1-hopefully we have seen last of sam 2-very tough spot for rosens debut-still he didn't look overwhelmed 3-McCoy finally had dj run deep route 4-kirk showed up-lets hope he continues to learn from larry and improve each week 5-bene replaced taylor -hopefully bene starts going forward 6-Gunther and Robert n had a few nice plays. 7-Gresham did not get a dumb penalty 8-ol play was better esp in pass protection 9-dj still has it-just gotta get him the damn ball 10-baker is a rising star 11-golden returned to action

Actually for #5 Bene and Taylor were on the field together. And Taylor actually made some plays as did Bene. Was it because Bene was telling Taylor were and who to guard/defend against?
All in all I agree with your summary Jeff.

I thought the D line did well. It allowed the corners more protection..... The corners seemed to be asked to keep the WRs in front, so played a bit deeper. Almost a bend don't break. But it seemed to me to be better than the first two games.
The weakness was the dunk off to guys just beyond the o line, as there seemed to be a no man's land, that, early at least, the Bears feasted on by dumping to the RB or TE 5 yards beyond the LOS. They got some handy YAC. The system meant the corners weren't giving up much YAC. So with a tweak or two, maybe they have hit on something? It will need the LBs to be disciplined in pass coverage though.

Golden still struggling with containment but looked like he is back to 100%. Kirk should only get better with Rosen starting, they had a real connection during the pre-season. Bene and Jamar looked good on the field together. Nice seeing Jamar making plays....finally. RK was very disruptive. Like what I am seeing from him right now.

It's hard to win games when players are in crucial situations like Reddick (offsides) and Tre Boston (hitting the defenseless receiver). Boston just has to be smarter than that, the ball has sailed, a hit like that is going to get called EVERY TIME. I understand that the roughing the passer rules are a mess and I can excuse those, but the hitting the receiver stuff has been around for a while and there's no excuse to be there.
Speaking of roughing the passer rules, Rog better get to work figuring that out or kneeling players are going to be the least of his worries. Maybe it will take a Super Bowl getting decided by a DE being not quite nice enough when he sacks a QB and drawing a penalty.

Also Tre Boston looks good when the game is competitive.

Also Tre Boston looks good when the game is competitive. Which does no good if he's going to go full idiot and lay out a "defenseless receiver", knowing it's going to get called EVERY TIME.

Rosen looked like he could handle the big stage. Biggest positive for me.

Rosen, Kirk, Gresham and Golden all showed up for the 1st time all season. All will have impact.
Tre Boston, I like what he brings.
We are now building with solid parts.

All the makings are there for this team to wake up one Sunday and scare the hell out of all remaining teams on the regular season schedule. At least that's what I saw from the D on Sunday. The slow-mo O still has a few Sunday sleep-ins to go before the slumber party ends.
I'm not hyper excited about Rosen's debut as the starter next Sunday v. the Seahags at home. He has a lot of games to play before he's seen it all and really ready for everything.

The Bears with a quality QB are in the SB hunt right now. With Trubisky they still have a shot to make the playoffs.

Bears seriously in the playoffs hunt in December (could happen) is a networks nightmare. No Green Bay? No Minnesota? No names? Gawd help the advertisers, shirt sellers, and schedulers late in the 2018 season!
