Defense not much better. The final Bears drive 4th and 4 and our two safeties are 20 yards back and our Corners are 10 yards off the receivers. We were screaming at the TV to press. So dumb, simple things that are just not there. Thats bad coaching.

So dumb, simple things that are just not there. Thats bad coaching. Defense I am not willing to give up on yet as there are several factors. Defense is gassed by the time of possession and on the field way too much as the offense just plan sucks. Defensive Coordinator at least as shown promising signs at other levels of coaching and knows Wilks defensive game plan plus it takes longer for the defense to gel than the offense. Same reason why I wasn't willing to give up on Todd Bowles defense when he first came here and everyone was ripping into him. No excuses for the inept play calling of Mike McCoy. Solely on him. |

3rd and 2. Somehow it made sense to run a stretch play without DJ to the weak side...lose yards. Then on 4th and 5, trips right, a slant by Fitz, a steak, and a deep out route. calls. Just plain dumb. Wilks needs to be a head coach and fire Mike McCoy now. Why DJ wasn't given the ball on 3rd down is just dumb. He didn't have to give him the ball. But at least have him on the field to be considered by the defense. Reminded me of 4th and 2 in the rose bowl when Pete Carroll gave Lendale White the handoff and Bush was still on the sideline. Make the defense at least account for the best player on the field! This call and the idiotic timeout at the end of 1H really hurts my confidence in the new staff. Man, any chance Bowles gets canned and we could pair him with Leftwich and get Wilks and Co out?!?!? |

We had the two min warning and came up with that crap play? Ugh |

To make it even worse, they didn't have 2 plays called after the break and burned through a lot of valuable time they didn't have to. So .

Like Main Event said, I'm usually one to wait things out before hitting panic buttons. But McCoy has a track record of failure. I truly think Bradford was the primary reason for our Offensive woes, but McCoy wasn't far behind. The 3rd and 2 call should have sealed his fate.
Fire McCoy.

If it costs Bidwill money he won't fire McCoy. I may be wrong, but I think revenue sharing pays for players not coaches.
