The Cards got their QB. If they'd missed out, this class looks pathetic. I've seen all the top 6 guys play at least 2 full games so far this college season and have been completely underwhelmed. I rarely look on Bleacher report, but this article, pretty much comes to the same conclusion as I have come to, and offers those teams who got their QB in the 2018 draft some real solace.

Little early to be so down on the rookies. Nobody was that high on baker Mayfield either.

In the Georgia game, he will be compared to Fromm no doubt during the game. Every QB in the up coming draft, should have to play the Bama D at least once. Get rid of the senior bowl, and make them play against those guys instead :-)

Little early to be so down on the rookies. Nobody was that high on baker Mayfield either. That's fair. But there was plenty of promise with the class, and of course the usual baloney from Todd McShay. Getting Rosen in, even if they redshirt him during the 0-16 season, at least gives Cards fans hope going into the next decade. As the article says. Replacing Rivers could be a big problem for the Chargers. Steelers also have a lot on their plate. I slightly disagree about the Giants. But if Lauletta was all hype, then they could be looking at the 2020 class and hoping Eli doesn't call it a day.

How do we know he's "our QB?" Haven't seen him play in a real game yet. For all we know he's the next Leinart.

Good point, I will try. I'm trying to figure out if I should have hope of just go all in on enjoying myself watching the wreck. This weekend will tip me one way or the other. It better, anyway, last thing I need is a 13-13 tie with signs of life in all three phases and I don't know which direction to go.

It’s a team game..qbof depends on the OL more than ever..it’s not time for Rosen, maybe the last 4-6 games IF the OL stays healthy. If they don’t stay healthy, then next year is Rosen’s. And we concentrate on the OL, LB in FA..WR and DB in the draft..
Go Cardinals!

Also positive, the DL class looks fantastic. We should have high picks in a year we will need to strengthen both sides of the line.

More positive, from the long term view. The WR crop of potential FAs next year is unusually strong. It will be interesting to see who gets locked up before FA, in a year we will have a need and lots of cap available. Who will be Rosen’s new toys to add alongside our rookie and potentially Fitz on another short contract?
“The top five free-agent wide receivers only scratch the surface of potential movement. Beckham, Cooks and Diggs are 25 years old or younger and established No. 1 targets. Tate is the game's best after the catch. Fitzgerald will again consider retirement next offseason, but three straight 100-reception seasons say he's far from done.
Randall Cobb, Kelvin Benjamin, Devin Funchess, Martavis Bryant, Jermaine Kearse, Rishard Matthews, Donte Moncrief, Cole Beasley, Tyler Lockett and Tyrell Williams are wonderful second-tier options. Whatever skill a team lacks in its passing game, it can find in free agency next year.”

Similarly, there should be some Oline help available in FA next year.
“The emphasis placed on established veterans over promising prospects is greater than ever as the collegiate game struggles to produce ready-made offensive linemen. As such, contracts for blockers have skyrocketed the last few years, and the growth should continue with two of the game's better young left tackles, Lewan and Matthews, potentially available in 2019.
Duane Brown, on the other hand, can still land a massive payday—Andrew Whitworth and Nate Solder did despite their ages.”
Williams and Havenstein are right tackles”
Williams, a current Panther whom Wilks and our Oline coach are familiar with, could be an obvious upgrade at RT. In addition, Shaw Mason, one of the league’s best run blocking guards, should be available, as well as some strong pass blockers if that’s the way they’d rather go.

Also positive, the DL class looks fantastic. We should have high picks in a year we will need to strengthen both sides of the line. I was going through some stuff last night and wondered whether the Cards might go DT with a top 3 pick, and cut loose Nkemdiche? Despite his pretty unimpressive play, I think he will be asking silly money. That money could be best spent on someone like Gary at Michigan. (I think the Cards are set at DE, so if they had the #1 pick, and someone was desperate for Bosa, then maybe trade back a tiny bit, and still be able to snag Gary.
