honesty you want... my school didn't have football but if our basketball team had played this poorly 2 games in a row our coach wudda run us in the next practices until we puked. Bradford-was a "name" signing...any real evaluation of sam would have been: DONT SIGN THIS GUY FOR 20 MIL McCoy-we have no idea why wilks liked him but again any real evaluation would have been: time for this guy to coach in the ncaa the other 3 need areas wr, corner and OL WERE NOT ADDRESSED PROPERLY BY SK-PERIOD...PUGH IS THE ONLY FREE AGENT SIGNING HE MADE IN THESE AREAS THAT WAS AN UPGRADE(maybe bene BUT hes not starting??) the cards best options on offense are of course larry and dj: a first grader drawing plays in the dirt would figure out how to get the ball to these guys the first 2 games have been the worst ive ever watched of the cards: they have played worse than the steve psarkcwiec(sp?) team-he started one game when hart was hurt..lindley at least tried...max hall tried to win by willpower and at least skelton threw the ball downfield tho often to the other team...hell, even john Navarre threw a td pass and tim rattay played way better than sam has so far. this team was at a crossroads after last season-they have made the wrong turn-question is how quickly will mb realize that? to paraphrase allen inerson: TACKLE? TACKLE? TACKLE? sam is clearly not reading the defense and is only trying to get rid of the ball before he gets hit. ive said all along that he was a poser and wilts at the least bit of pressure. which of these is true: 1-coaches and players lied when they said sam was lighting it up in practice or the statement above? There are a few things wrong with your post, but I get your point. You said they didnt address the situaiton properly at those positions, which ended up being accurate. They did use a second round pick on a WR and they did sign a guy in Brice Butler that you would think would have made the team. I personally have always liked Jaron Brown and he is better than anything else we have. Should have kept him. They signed Bene and also traded for Taylor the starting CB. He sucks, but they did make attempts. You also said they only signed Pugh which is not true, because they also signed Smith which none of us were excited about. Swapping Veldheer out for him Seemed to baffle many on here. Veldeer is good enough to start at RT for Broncos and pretty sure we all agree they are more productive than us and undefeated. They also drafted oline in the 3rd round which should end up being a solid starter for years. The tackle spot is where I think we failed. I think the oline has been decent, but no way to know because we throw a 3 yard pass so quick, nobody has time to be evaluated. Running is hard when they stack the box like that.

That's a pretty sorry, but accurate analysis of the post season. I'm still of the mind that James Washington was the best receiver in the class. He was sitting there in round 2 but the Cards decided to go with a lesser (IMO) player unable to get separation. So I think this will be analyzed in 3 years time as another mistake.
Agree about the centre though. He looked good pre draft, and so far has lived up to the hope he can be a long term starter.

I agree with the thread idea. 2 games is not nearly enough to evaluate how bad this team really is.

it is. we all know cleveland and just watched cleveland be far more competitive 2 games in a row. cleveland. cleveland tied the steelers game one and only lost by a field goal in their 2nd game. cleveland is average 19.5 points a game. we average 3. when cleveland is 6X as good as you are, you can evaluate that. that's history book bad. that sticks out clearly.

I didn’t hate the Kirk pick, but there were some WR’s I liked there, like Washington. Anthony Miller was another I had targeted for that pick. It is so hard to know who is fully to blame for this absurd offense. I think Kirk will be fine though. He will return a punt for TD this season. Well, if our defense could get a stop or two. They limit is opportunities for sure.

How good/bad is the defense. ? not sure really. Way too much pressure has been put on them with the three and outs we have. I do agree with you on Kirk. I like the kid. He looks like an Edelman type player. as far as Jamar Taylor. He might be the worst corner we've had here. the guy is very slow and that's a killer for a CB. Would we actually be better served with Brandon Williams? probably not.

I dont know, the defense is pretty bad. I know its unfair to totally judge and do we really know with such an inept offense? That is taken into account, but Wash did whatever they wanted to us. They looked like the Rams against us. We do not get any pressure, cant cover, and cant tackle. They very well may come out and look good this week. I am not impressed with the Bears offense, so this is the time to do it. I Knew things would not get better against the Rams. They have had our number for years and now they have more talent, good coach and a QB. That equals things getting much worse for us and a long time nemesis in them. I did hope the offense would show some signs of something. Keep in mind with our old coaching staff, better D, Better O, we still lost 33-0 last year. They just own us. I will seriously judge us after the next two games. We will be a historically awful team if it doesnt get better.

I think we're seeing the beginning or the middle of the end of the functioning alcoholic. Unless he can scapegoat a scout or two.

Pathetic is an understatement. I don’t care as there is no excuse to have 90 total yards passing when you have Fitzgerald and David Johnson on this team. Can’t make it past the 50 yard line until the end of the game. Mike McCoy sucks as an offensive coordinator. That is why I threw “beyond” in there haha. Hard to think he doesn’t suck pretty bad at this point. I dont know if a qb change matters. If we had one and things changed I guess we would know. I just dont even understand how we can be this bad. LOL One could even say it is Buzz Lightyear pathetic from infinity and beyond pathetic. We need to fire Mike McCoy already. I cringed when we brought him in and that is the common source to a pathetic offense that is executed which for the most part has been executed just when you need a yard you will get a yard when you need 3 yards you still going to get a yard when you need 20 yards you still going to get a yard in this pathetic offensive play calling. Never had liked it as McCoy wants YAC forgetting that sometimes you have to rely on an actual yards from the catch.

It was frustrating watching the O Coordinators getting snatched up. Very interested to see how this Sunday plays out. I really thought McCoy would adapt to his personnel but it doesnt seem as if he has.
