www.nhl.com/coyotes/Arizona and ice is the ultimate conceptual contradiction. Thankfully, there is the NHL and the Arizona Coyotes hockey team to make hot and cold work together. Enjoy the new thread!

www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/glendale/2020/11/05/glendale-wants-more-commitment-az-coyotes-finally-gets-revenue/6175863002/Glendale is asking for more commitment from the Arizona Coyotes as the city finally received its annual slice of revenue from Gila River Arena. The NHL team was months behind on rent and other payments. City Manager Kevin Phelps recently told City Council members at a public meeting that he sent a letter to the Coyotes and ASM Global, which operates the city-owned arena, seeking a more long-term lease agreement. The Coyotes have been on a year-to-year lease — which renews annually unless the team backs out — with the arena management company since 2016. The lease's short-term nature annually fuels speculation the team will relocate. With no fans in seats, and no TV contracts, I don't see how the Coyote franchise can survive. The team is challenged to pay arena rent and other bills now.

The Team's 2021 w/l/tie record is 18-15-5 on Easter Weekend. Who is up for NHL Hockey now? More ice is needed. 96F forecasted temp outdoors today.

Unfortunately. Although I’m not necessarily a hockey fan, I am an Arizona sports fan. Hate to see them leave.

Let me know when to pull the plug on the subpage. Easy process.

Ricardo, thanks. Out of respect for Forum members who love their Coyotes', the category will remain open through the NHL playoffs. However, the category is renamed "Salt Lake City Coyotes" starting April 19, 2024. EZ
