PAGE 1
Congratulations to Your 2020 Arizona Cardinals Team for the first win of the season at the home of the San Francisco 49ers.
Win 1 24 - 20
During the week, I will provide stories and links pertinent to the game with Washington coming to the Desert to play Your Cardinals. There will be no stories or links regarding social issues or name changes of the Washington Team. You are welcome to post that on the Health and Social Issue Thread that (Admin.) Putmein was kind enough to create.
WEEK 2 GAME DATE 9/20/20 Game Time 4:05 PM EST
Washington ( 1-0 ) cannot be taken lightly ( BE CAREFUL) They are playing hard for a really good coach Ron Rivera who is undergoing cancer treatment.
They came back from being down 17-0 to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 27-17. Their defense sacked Carson Wentz and Company 8 times. Washington had two key interceptions.
Both the Cardinals and Washington are coming off big wins over the division champions of 2019.
Here are some highlights of Washington vs Philadelphia
Ron Rivera Victory speech NFC East Champs
Washington's Roster and depth Chart
You may notice former Cardinal Logan Thomas who scored a TD pass vs the Eagles is the starting tight end for Washington. I told coach BA years ago on the forum. That he needed Thomas to switch to be a tight end not a QB.

Washington's Key Players to watch
Terry McLaurin WR. I wanted us to draft McLaurin instead of Andy Isabella. He was picked up in the 3rd round and was a steal. He played at Ohio State.
Week 1 vs Eagles 6 receptions for 61 yards
2019 58 receptions 919 yards 7 TDS
Chase Young: Chase was the #2nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft. He is an edge rusher out of Ohio State Young had 11/2 sacks versus the Eagles along with 2 tackles and 2 assists.
Chase Young Highlights

Yes, it will be tough game. But expect us to win. OL will need to be sharp and expect another big running day from KM.

This year, I believe he will let KM take off any time he wants. This Cardinals team is going to be very dangerous for any team to handle. Really love how the D stepped up with some stops, and Murphy sealed it with big play. This team has to be feeling very good about itself right now. But cannot let down against a Washington team that looks better then expected.

That defensive line has a lot of first round talent, and it looked like it today via the highlight reel/stats. Kudos to their coaching staff for that second half adjustment.
Their box score was not impressive by any means though. The offense definitely benefitted from some good field position due to the defense. Fumble recoveries and long returns post interception will do that for you.

PHI was the better team statistically on Sunday. The 2 turnovers stuffed PHI's chances. WAS was good enough to win, and got timely breaks. QB Haskins can play ball. Rivera is an experienced HC and will be ready for Kingsbury's squad. The PHI at WAS Gamebook is attached for reference. Note WAS's plays and how they attacked a superior team. I am begging KK to take advantage of the youthful edge rushers and run some draw plays and SCREEN passes to Edmonds. One of the reasons of moving on from Shipley was that he wasn't athletic enough for pulls and screens ... so hope I see at least 4-5 screen plays this coming Sunday.
P.S. Hope to see some production from Kirk (5 targets - zero catches) and Isabella.
Oh BTW: - Again Kugler is a GREAT OL coach as Gaillard came in for Cole and the offense didn't miss a beat. Also in the 4th qtr - newly acquired Beacham move to LT (take Hump's place) and Justin Murray came in at RT. No holding or sacks against the #1 defense from last year -- Cards can't pay Kugler enough.

On any given Sunday. We all know that one. While WAS has a chance I see this as a Cards win. And it shoudn't be all that close. Something like 34 to 17. Wash is still a year away from being a good team. But in that division an 8 and 8 record just might win. Not exactly the toughest division in football. Watched some of the Cowpukes game last night. Really wan't inpressed woth their O. SF defense I think was better and we put up over 400 yards on them. Think we can handle the Cowpukes. I don't think a team from the east would make it in any other division than the one their in. Not a dominant team in the whole division. Prescott to me is just like everything Cowpukes. Over rated. Their still living off what Tam Landry did for that orginization. Can't stand Jerry Jones. And absolutely hate that team. Hope we wipe the field with them. Should be 2 and 0 after next week.

This and Wentz's propensity to hold the ball was their downfall. That, and some miscues with the receiving corp. Hopefully Chandler Jones plays on that side.

Where was the great Bosa yesterday? Maybe selling Popcorn in the stands, about as effective. I did catch a glimpse of the great Bosa a few times, stuck in player traffic or on his butt. There's a lot of beef flying around in a small space out there between the hash marks. Bosa is just human. I think KK ignored Bosa for the most part. He's not special. The coaches let the OL and TE take care of business. It worked.

I'm not going to make the error and take anything away from the WAS lines. There's some major talent up front. If there are holes, it's the specialty players.
WAS can be beat, just like PHI was beating them 17-0 and then PHI STARTED BEATING THEMSELVES.
I'm sure KK and Co. is aware that WAS is just as confident as the Cardinals now.
* WAS at ARI game is next Sunday, 4:05pm KO. Let's do 2-0 right.
** FWIW, I read a short article about CBS schedulers feeling sorry that they forced the US to watch TB and an old man named Brady show his declining skills and get beat. Meanwhile, MUrray looked like an MVP.
