The whole coaching staff and players stunk it up yesterday.
I don't like calling for guy's jobs but this stat say's it all for me. If McCoy want's to avoid the pink slip before mid season like last year he might want to change this up. You have a bell cow RB and he is handed the ball only 9 times !!! holy crap then you have a Qb that checks it down so much and he doesn't stretch the D and the RB get's 9 carries does anyone see the problem with the scheme?
DJ should have had that many carries or more in the first half. I know this team is not very good but the coaching schemes are not helping on both sides of the ball. If this season continues downward I really hope MB considers cleaning house and bring in a staff that possesses creativity and basic commonsense when it comes to football.
Sorry I had to get that out of my system. We were bad last year and this team looks worse then last year.
Total QBR 82.9 for smith that was 3rd for yesterday 429 total yds.
Total QBR 24.5 for Bradford that was 23rd for yesterday 213 total yds.

RBF62,
Stats don't lie. Ugly Cards day.
McCoy hire always bothered me, in an odd way. Fired guys do that. They come with a stink on 'em.
DJ busted his butt and was almost busted in half. That is partly on McCoy and Bradford. DJ is human and will go down if so-called smart guys can't figure out the Defense and call better plays.

I spent some time breaking down the failure of the offense yesterday.
Fault lies:
50% Mccoy - Awful, uninspired, predictable. Id fire Mccoy today, honestly. That was atrocious play calling and offensive philosophy. 40% Bradford - Made the bad play calling worse by awful reads, inaccuracy. Terrible QB play. 9% WRs not named Larry - Chad is a bust. Kirk needs to PICK IT UP. 1% TEs - Seals dropped a worthless garbage time TD. UNACCEPTABLE. 0% OL - Did a really good job. Bradford was sacked once. They did great. 0% RBs - Whenever David/Chase ran, they did well. But game was out of hand, couldnt run.

It is certainly a concern and McCoy needs to improve quickly.
However it is week 1 and one thing that gives me any hope at all is that other teams did look similarly bad. Dallas, Carolina, Philadelphia, etc. Their QBs were putting up similar numbers to Bradford.
Hopefully more practice will improve things. Probably not but we'll see.

First game so I am far away from making any proclamations. This is a brand new team in about every way so I will give them some rope.

Kurt could make the play calling look really bad to. Bradford is no Kurt Warner but I don't think he's as bad as he played Sunday ether.

Here are 4 key stats after the first 30 minutes of game time: The Cardinals had more penalty yards (37) than yards from scrimmage (36). The Redskins had more touchdowns (three) than the Cardinals had first downs (two). The visitors had twice as many first downs (22) than the Cardinals had passing yards (11). WRs not named Larry Fitzgerald combined for one catch and four yards. credit where credit is due: arizonasports.com/story/1660787/arizona-cardinals-loss-week-1-steve-wilks-redskins-dan-bickley/

Al Holcomb the DC just went thru a major learning session yesterday. Can he bounce back? Can OC McCoy develop a better game plan? Can HC Wilks motivate and prepare after a debacle of a debut?
These are questions that will take a few weeks to sort out. If they can then the team can progress. But if they are still struggling by week 5..... could be a difficult off season for many of the above.
All I can do as a fan is Hope they get the ship righted. Fingers crossed they can do it. Step up time for all, even the fans.

No to what? Nice gif but vague answer Phil. No to your questions about Wilks and co bouncing back... This very much looks like a rebuilding year. Everything looked bad except the punter and Bethea

His garbage QB(who in fact, has been an under-average QB at BEST his entire career) & OC? Don’t blame a single game on the WRs until them pathetic clowns named Samuel Bradford & Michael McCoy are gone.

First game so I am far away from making any proclamations. This is a brand new team in about every way so I will give them some rope. For the time being, this is also my feelings. I was as disappointed as anyone, but it was only one game. For the last few years and for whatever reason we are simply not ready for the season opener. From here on out, and especially when there so many changes, we need to play the first teamers more in preseason. I mean come on. How many snaps did Bradford get in preseason. He made exactly 11 pass attempts this preseason. Then when you consider he only played in 2 games last year. I don't care how good or bad he is, he can't help to be anything but rusty. As far as key stats go. These are two that stuck out to me. Time of possession. Our defense was on the field for 38:08. I'm not gonna say our defense played well, they did not, but that means our defense was on the field 16:56 mins longer than the Redskins defense. Our defense got worn out early. You can't win games like that. The other stat that greatly concerns me. Of our WR's and other that Larry, we had one catch for 4 yards by Kirk. As good as Larry is, he can't do it all. I'm hoping this was a learning experience for the entire organization and they make the necessary adjustments. We are going to get to see if Steve Wilks is a contender or pretender in the coming weeks. All I ask for is to see a little improvement from week to week. We do that and I will stay on Wilks bandwagon.

Did he every talk to Bradford face to face? I didn't see it. I give McCoy 4-5 weeks at best, unless he manages to rip off 4 miracle wins in a row, and that's what they will be, miracles, if this play-calling continues.
