Yeah he looks overwhelmed, I think the preseason was so easy for them because they never faced a starting offense

I'm still a little bit scared about the Wilks hire.
Obviously can't blame this game all on him but he really reminds me of Mike Singletary and Steve Spagnuolo - 2 guys who just weren't cut out for the head coaching job at all. They have A LOT of the same qualities.
I posted about it before, so something to keep an eye on. We'll see...

He's a rookie HC talking over a team that hasn't been to the playoffs in 3 years. Were still carrying dead cap space on Palmer. We brought in a veteran QB for 1 year. This is a transition year for the team. Nothing that happened yesterday should surprise anyone.

You should go back and watch some more interviews with Singletary and Spags when they first got their head coaching gigs and see the things they preach and the things they place the most importance on. Very similar to the things Wilks values. But like I said, we'll see how this ends.

I watched the Green Bay Bears game last night. McCarthy went from Zippy the Chimp to Vince Lombardi when Rodgers came back in the game.

They have A LOT of the same qualities. I posted about it before, so something to keep an eye on. We'll see... I guess that's the biggest fear, but it would happen with any hire. Whisenhunt came here as the guy who got passed over in Pittsburgh. Arians came here as the longtime assistant who could never get a HC gig.
Several days of void to fill before next Sunday so we will all stew in this mess. For perspective, both Whisenhunt and Arians lost their first games, both on the road (49ers and Rams, respectively). They both came in off of debacle seasons, so expectations were low. I remember well in both games feeling things were much improved over the previous debacles, didn't feel that at all yesterday except for the kicking game.
Bottom line Wilks wanted the job so he's going to have to fix it.

I think Singleterry had a hand it building a 49ers team that went to 2 straight NFC Championships but Harbaugh probably coached them better until they imploded under his watch.
