I have a different view. What “if” when the new pro leagues get started, they will be farm teams composed of football free agents. The teams will showcase guys that can plug a hole somewhere.. no team affiliations, but there will be favored Teams though.. coaching connections. It’s going to change football.. preseason football is going away.. the business side of football is going to change..maybe each nfl teams send young players to the different new teams. Who knows, I just really believe that the new cba will change everything. I just hope it’s for the better for the players long term..

Even when the starters are playing, preseason is absolutely horrible to watch because it's vanilla everything.
The only game i watch is the first quarter of the 2nd game and 1 1/2 Qtrs of the 3rd game. The 1st and 4th games are completely unwatchable. I basically watch the headlines only to see what players we lost for the season in a meaningless game.
If my team looks good I say "huh, that's interesting."
if my team looks bad I say, "huh, that's interesting."

I voted 2 games because there is some value playing a couple games for the reps. If teams never want to play starters again, so be it, but draftees and UDFAs need the game time in order to develop. The ones who miss the 53 man cut and don't get picked up on a practice squad can go to one of the new leagues and prove themselves there, but I don't think its an all-around replacement for preseason. No love lost from me if they go to 0 preseason games, but overall I think the product on the field will deteriorate in the long term if there isn't sufficient preparation for the regular season.

You need two games. Getting hit in practice isn't the same as game speed. Bodies have to get used to getting hit every year. And you still have to evaluate your new players in a game situation.

Get rid of the pre-season. The first 4 regular season games are weighted as 1/2 a game. The last 4 weighted 1.5 games each. Gives teams a chance to gel and the teams that are strong down the stretch will get into the playoffs.

The only reason I'm going to the game on Thursaday is because I want to know where my new seats are at, I relocated so I want to get familiar with the area.. Pre season is awful so is tailgating in early September

I wouldn't mind cutting the preseason down to 2 games. I would still like one preseason game at home. It is preseason prep for my family and I. Got to work out the bugs and test out new tailgating setups. Maybe use some backup equipment, see what makes the cut for the tailgate roster. Attachment Deleted

my guess is that there will be 2 preseason games and 18 regular season games. according to the talking head shows being able to smoke weed is one of the nflpa's major wants...as well as more money, larger rosters, changes in how franchise tag works.
how great will the last 2 or3 games be each year involving teams that are out of the playoffs with some/most? of the players high on weed? thy will be seen on tv munching down on hot dogs and nachos...lol...and ducking into the injury tent for a quick toke...

Here's another idea...scrap the 4 PS games altogether...play a few controlled scrimmage games between regional teams only with no ticket sales, beer, etc. Play 18 regular season games. Have 2 bye weeks. There will be much cost for the teams and much lower risk to the players. Also saves fans beau-coup bucks, maybe! The networks will cry a river. So what! Fox an ESPN ain't gonna sue their cash cow. Everybody adjusts, everybody wins.

1975 called, expressed support for trashing the exhibition season.
This year went over the top. The formula was always first game has some appeal to see what's there and maybe see the starters for a few series, game two get to see some backups, game three is a dress rehearsal for the starters as they play into the third quarter, fourth game a scrum for desperate guys or guys on the edge. So much for that, teams are smartly parking starters all exhibition season long. There's simply no spinning this nonsense.
Let's see Rog and the boys get to work fixing this. I didn't consider for one minute going to either game. Sold my $90+ tickets for $25 and $12, respectively. C'mon, Big Red Service Team, give me a bell. I'll take the call this time and officially lodge my complaint that will go nowhere. I gave up my crusade for better wi-fi.
