Makes no sense to me.
What happens when you use your CB to blitz? You have less coverage available. Who do you want when you have less coverage? Your best players back there.
Blitz a safety or someone else. You always want PP back there.
I suspect they are doing it to prevent him from being bored. I'm not kidding.

Corner blitzes have always been a part of defenses since the dawn of time. Used sparingly but can be effective when the offense is in a traditional lineup with one running back. You blitz the corner from the opposite side of your stud DE as the RB will move over to chip that guy leaving a clear path to the QB. Stealth is the key here and in most cases the QB will end up throwing the ball to someone on the side the blitz is coming from making it easier to defend. The only time it would suck is if the offense has a screen called.

Situational decision. There will be times when the corner blitz is something that needs to be considered. Late in the game, down by a few points and need a turnover or need to force a punt. It’s a play that is dangerous, but could make the difference between winning or losing..

PP21 will rack up some impressive numbers this year. But he will still give up a few too. Another Pro Bowl year under Wilks.

When you blitz anybody from the secondary you are exposed. When we are exposed I want PP back there because he's the best.

With PP21 being targeted so little (rarely the first option) it makes some sense to send him occasionally, with someone else helping out on the man he leaves. Because of the QB on offense, you are always at least +1 in defenders and in zone on a planned blitz should be able to manage. PP21 seems to be enjoying himself.

I don't see PP21 gunning QBs' much. PP21 said on Sunday that Wilks wants him to face the QB in the flat vice turning his back and running with the receivers down field. That tactic may cost the D a few yards but it also puts PP21 in a much better position to put his hands on the football as evidenced against the Pokes last Sunday. Say "No" to the former HC's style.

I agree, good points. From listening to 98.7, both the morning and afternoon guys they sure take a lot away from playing the second string Cowboys sunday. Nobody really started for the cowboys of note. I wouldn't take too much from that game.
